Upgraded Firefox and none of my add-ons worked.

I just installed firefiox 4 in its own folder and left my firefox 3.6 untouched. This way I can test FF4, but not have to do without the add-ons that I use. Until everything is compatible I will continue using FF 3.6 primarily.

Probably because the add-ons you use aren't worth shit.

Anyhoo - Firefox will update automatically when the new plugins have been released by the dev.

How are add-ons that I actually use "not worth shit"?

the addons have to be updated looks like seo quake is dead :( people asked for a update on facebook and ignored.

Do they actually need updating or just the file that says they are compatible editing?

All my plugins works without problem.

.xpi is just a zip

Try editing install.rdf to cover firefox 4 then see if they will install.

if their not compatible they need to be updated. just like any other addon. :2 cents: wordpress does it all the time

With firefox 'not compatible' just means the install file doesn't list the current version of firefox - often because whoever wrote the addon hasnt got around to checking it still works and changing the number rather than it being garuanteed broken.

I downloaded the new firefox because it said "faster games".

I just played a game and it was as slow as ever.
The same game plays fast as lighting on all other browsers.

If you want to compete for high score in a game then close firefox first.

add-ons are for losers. :2 cents:

click on Tools--> Add-ons and it will tell you which ones you had installed (they will look disabled, of course)

Personally, I had 8 add-ons and 7 of them works, so I'm cool with that. The only one not working for me is Ad-Blocker

I updated to firefox 4 a while back and its an even worse memory hog than 3.x

i downgraded as soon as i upgraded.
