What do you expect when you put a criminal business man in office as Governor. Rick Scott is crooked as fuck (there are court cases proving it) and is also doing shady things to fill his coffers. He made his money in the health insurance industry, and it's odd that his daughter is now VP of a major health care provider while he's trying to shove through legislation that will increase government employees insurance rates by unbelievable numbers.

If this isn't a case of corruption then I don't know what is. Too bad Alex Sink didn't win. She may not have done a great job but at least she wouldn't rob Floridians blind while lining her own coffers.

Im so confused here...Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, Missouri and Washington all have the same Bill up to be voted on by both Dems/Reps and yet for some reason Florida is the only state being talked about.

But then i remember that MSNBC is the #24 most watched channel in all of TV im not confused any more :thumbsup

Rachel Maddow is the Glenn Beck of the Left.

(I'm sure the lefty's on the board will start foaming at the mouth at that statement, but realistcally, it's true)

It would only be true if Beck actually researched his material thoroughly, and presented factual information like Rachel does. As that is not the case, your analogy is completely meaningless.

Of course.... There's DEFINITELY not just a long list of untrue crap told by Rachel Maddow as there is by Glenn Beck.

(About as long as the list of true stuff told by both and ignored by the other.)

There are none so blind as those who only wish to listen to stuff that they agree with already and conveniently fits their world view. :1orglaugh:).

So now that you've OBVIOUSLY watched the video that started this thread, please educate us as to how Rachel was lying, or does watching the video inconveniently conflict with YOUR world view?

Ok, I really disagree with that statement but rather than just throw out some 'pithy' remarks I will be open minded about it. There are a number of sources (all of whom I would assume you would question) that have pointed out the blatant falsehoods of Beck. They are easy to find in fairly short order.

Can you present an equally factual case against Rachel Maddow from independent sources. If you have them I will read them, think about them and they may even change my mind about her. But I have watched her since she started on MSNBC and I have been impressed with the actual facts she uses as well as her sense of humor and the respect she shows to her guests.

But I would like to see instances where she has been wrong and has not retracted it on her show very prominently

To use your own words here...

BTW, I have seen the massive bias on BOTH sides of the shows being discussed here.... If you don't see it then I would submit that it is only because the bias, of one or the other shows, matches your own bias. It's human nature at work, but it doesn't change the massive bias present in both shows.

my bias, and I will gladly admit I have a very strong left leaning bias here, is based on the things that cannot be denied by either side. Massive unemployment, millions of people uninsured, thousands of people dying because they are uninsured, heavy government subsides for corporations, the unraveling of the social safety net, the division of the American public, the lack of respect shown on both sides in the public service realm and no worthwhile social discourse about the very real problems we face and possible solutions

I detest Republicans for what I see as deluded self interest above all other concerns and the Democrats for being just plain silly and weak

If she is so thorough at presenting facts why didn't she talk about the other 6 states that have a similar Bill that has Democratic supporters?

I think you can find this with just about all ... reporters? today, maybe not so much the evening news people, but for sure the others, even on the same network.

She's just as wrong as the others... but I will admit, she's normally 'off', like she doesn't tell you the whole story, just the part that she thinks is important, but it is 'based' on news at least. Where Beck, just makes up wild shit and uses his own theories to tie it together. Same shoe, different brands for sure.

Just because I don't know, which State had the bill put forward by Democrats? Yeah a few will always support it, but not the majority.... but I still haven't see one where a Dem actually did it, at least not the same level as Fl is doing it.

The piece was about the GOP's plan to intentionally repress likely Democratic voters in Florida.

Half of the 6 states you referenced have Republican governors, so who knows what the fuck you're on about.

Show us this Democratic bill you speak of, introduced and supported by Democrats, that intends to repress new and minority voters. You know, likely Democratic voters.

Sounds very interesting...

I never said there was a Democratic bill introduced by Democrats, i clearly said 6 other states have have a similar Bill that has Democratic supporters. By the way, no likely Democratic voters in Florida or any other state for that matter are going to be repressed from registering when there are dozens of state run websites where you can register online 24/7/365. Not including government offices where you can get a Voter Registration Application, its so dumbed down now that you can even get one at the public Library.

Now go back to posting pointless pics...

Put up a link to a new voter repression bill that is getting Democratic support.

Same. Even minor inaccuracies are almost immediately corrected on her show with an apology which doesn't happen all that often.

I don't think anyone ever said Maddow wasn't biased, but she lives in a fact based world, whereas Beck deals in conspiracy, conjecture, blatant lies, etc. As GB himself has stated, no one should listen to what he says, he's a rodeo clown(paraphrased).

so the idea is to make it cost money and time to register to vote.

very clever, when you think about it.

I mean, it is kansas. and florida. these are states one expects to do such things.

I'd still like to see links on the legislation being considered in 6 other states.

this is such a specific charge, that it must have a source. it has to have been stated on some news channel or other right wing news aggregator or board.

does anyone know where? who started the "6 other places with dem support" rhetoric?

I don't mean the poster here, he is clearly just repeating something he was told, generating by rhetoric experts.

It was the St. Pete Times who reported the other states having similar bills and whats included in them. But we are talking many months ago this was covered, its old news now considering (HB 1355) passed the Florida Legislature on April 21...over a week ago.

so, if it was month's ago, and it hasn't been in the news since, why do you think that what you read bears any real relationship to the recently passed bill? when you read this, was it somehow connected to the bill?

I don't watch maddow, and didn't watch the OP's video, don't expect anything else from florida, so don't know the particulars, but it seems like you are throwing up a red herring, implying that maddow should have known about something you read month's ago that doesn't bear any obvious relation to the current bill.

the claim that dems are behind "make it harder to register to vote" bills is the interesting part. it seems logical that republicans would promote this strategy. the question is, is there truth to the claim that democrats are also backing such bills?

how would we find out?
