T-Mobile 2 AT&T

Should I leave t-mobile and go to att?
I been w/ tmobile for over a decade and this one lady wouldn't give me free blackberry messaging, she said I miss it by a week or so. haha, I didn't ask for management..

I can tether the iphone with a app and get unlimited data on a macbook pro with att for FREE.. I don't know the speeds. I hear 8-10mbps

I hear it can be done with t-mo, tethering, but dont know speeds.

what would you do gfyers?

pros/cons

AT&T is trying to buy T-Mobile
At&T has a cap on data.
T-Mobile has gone to Crap is the last few months. I also have been with them since they were voice stream.
At&T does have any mobile to any mobile, so no need for anything more than few hundred minutes a month.
Anyway, if you can, might want to wait see how this turns out.

I've been with t-mobile since the voicestream days too. 10+ years now. They've kinda gone to crap lately but they're still better than AT&T.

AT&T also doesn't allow tethering unless you get the higher priced data plan. T-Mobile doesn't care.

baddog 04-25-2011 04:24 PM

hmmm, I have had t-Mobile forever and have not noticed any drop in quality. I am not enthused about AT&T buying them though.

You still have a crap-berry? Get a free Android phone instead.

Baddog, talking about customer service. I am on hold sometimes over an hour.
Talking about what they will or will not do for you. They are all about the $$$ now

I have to be honest. The only time I deal with their customer service is to ensure I am still hooked up to have service when I go to Europe. Can't recall the last time I needed to talk to them about anything else . . . well, maybe a few years ago when they contacted me because my text allocations were in danger of going over, so they called to offer a cheap upgrade.

not just the customer service. T-Mobile is also getting rid of unlimited data plans and moving to 5GB/mo data plans to mirror what AT&T provides... getting ready for the merger I guess.

CYF 04-26-2011 10:35 AM

oh, and T-Mobile just moved their customer service to Manila. Deutsche Telekom is definitely in exit mode, getting ready for the AT&T buyout.

Will current users with unlimited plans be grandfathered in?

they always have been in the past. AT&T has also stated they would honor contracts until the contract is up, in case the purchase goes through.

T-Mobile had great customer service and quality, and an amazing choice of phones. Had the Android OS, hated the force closes and non-working open source apps.

I moved to AT&T for the Iphone and our company discount.
It's difficult to get someone on the phone at AT&T I get transfered at least twice, and the connectivity is horrible. But my current plan is much cheaper and I love my Iphone. Now that they're merging I don't think it makes much of a difference.

I just got rid of Chase bank becuase I was sick and tired of dealing with out-sourced CS from Manilla. Now AT&T - I can't win.

call back and talk to someone else.

Rangermoore 04-26-2011 10:06 PM

I have been with T-Mobile for 7 years and lately they have sucked. dropped calls, poor customer service, I just changed back to sprint and have been very happy so far.. Better plans and phones...
