My old man spent 20 years in the USAF as a communications officer in the 60-70's w/clearance. Think of the prototypical no BS military hardass lifer, thats him. Here's what I was told. There were two "project blue books" one very few people will ever see, the real one and then theres the other one. The air force constantly chases UFO's, as in daily. They cant even get close enough to fire on them, they would 'toy' with the USAF, slow down, make 90 degree turns instantly, then bolt at speeds that are impossible with technology then (and obviously still today). There are no dead alien bodys anywhere as one wouldnt make it millions of miles through space safely just to crash in roswell. The ones they chase never did anything that would be considered hostile, it was more like they would play with the fighters chasing them.

When interesting lights in the sky appear, this is what happens.

1. People call it a UFO, and UFO is naturally attributed to aliens from outer space. Wrong. It means Unidentified Flying Object. UNIDENTIFIED.

2. People can't make out the detail of what they are seeing to their imagination fills in the blanks. The UFOlogists see an opportunity to sell their books. The news media spread some fear. The religious nuts get a boner.

3. When the truth comes out (The UFO in Isreal was a fake, The Spiral UFO in Norway was a jinxed Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile that failed, people don't believe it. And then even worse, cry "cover up" because the truth doesn't fit their own pre conceived and highly flawed version of their own truth.

The next time you see or hear silly reports like these, try to remember "Occam's Razor". The simplest explanation tends to be the correct one. Lights in the sky might be:

- Earth-born lights, lasers, pranksters, hot air balloons, planes, other man-made objects, missiles, etc)

- Natural phenomena (lighting, the moon, venus, aurora borealis, ball lightning, etc)

- Space born objects such as meteors, retuning satellites, etc.

I love Science Fiction more than anyone and its fun to believe in things like Aliens visiting Earth, but the fact is that it will simply never happen. The Earth is simply too far away from any other planet that might sustain life. Warp Drive doesn't exist. Faster than light travel does not exist. I believe we are not alone, I just don't believe they are here.

So the next time you get freaked by a video, photo or even your own personal viewing of something, don't panic. Enjoy the view and then if you must know what it is, look at it with a skeptical eye. Just because some joker tell you that it is something, don't take their word for it. Do a little research.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if earth is visited by others. If we as humans had the ability, we would be visiting every planet in the universe. So I have to believe if someone else did have that ability, they may be swinging by to see what is going on here.

Considering they would probably be intelligent beings, there is a good chance they are stopping by to look at us the same way as we sometimes stop to look at a massive ant hill. Or scoping out the planet for resources. Who knows. Whatever the case, I'm sure we would be defenseless against them.

It would be in fact SHALLOW and IGNORANT to think we are the only planet with real intelligent life.

Light is only a perception, and it can be controlled and manipulated.

You can't say that. You don't know if are technological advances are better than theirs or .01% of their capability. They could be lightyears ahead of us. There is no proof out there that you cannot travel faster than light.

I grew up in a known 'UFO' hot spot. It was like shit out of x-files. There would be a 'sighting' and the next day helicopters would be all over the town. Most likely just military tests but still cool as shit. To bad it was in a day before all the cell phone cameras.

Although alien life is not just a mathematical probability its a mathematical certainty, the fact that we are less than a spec in our own galaxy of billions of other planets alien life finding us would be improbable to begin with. If aliens had the technology to find us then they also most likely found millions of other planets with intelligent life, we would be no more special than any one of those.

"Belief" has nothing to do with the actual "sight" of something ...

I also believe that you would have to be pretty damn stupid to believe that our current most advanced flight technological capabilities rest at a B2 bomber designed over 30 years ago and a U2 spy plane designed around 60 years ago.

Fact is Hitler was trying to develop "UFO's" during his time and all of his top scientists were were extracted out and spread around the World but mostly brought to the US to continue on. In addition to trying to develop UFO's he was also faking UFO invasions to scare people.
