Tempur-pedic mattress smells like shit. What to do?

Did you just get it? A lot of people recommend after getting it out, to air it out with the windows open.

I've had smell issues, oily and chemically, but after febreeze, fans, and open windows, they go away.

I have a temperpedic pillow - unfortunately TIME and Febreeze will EVENTUALLY take that smell out of it...MAYBE

This. It worked for me. I had a cloud supreme. The most comfortable bed and the only bed i've ever been able to sleep in. My wife couldn't have that so she had it returned and got a more expensive mattress from sleepy's that has individually wrapped springs. I fucking hate it.

it might take a couple weeks. mattresses are treated with so much chemical shit these days, a lot of people report bad reactions to it. seems like overkill. memory foam mattresses are the worst, typically.

Suggestion.

Instead of getting up for a piss during the night, just piss the bed instead. After a few nights, it will no longer smell of shit, but smell of piss instead.

It took a solid week before I noticed the smell starting to decline. After about a month it wasn't even noticeable.

Buy a real mattress....I dont care what price it is, or how good people say they are, If you can buy something on an infomercial, that shit sucks.

I laid on one of them when i was purchasing a mattress and didn't see what all the fuss was about. Found it completely uncomfortable.

Best $4K (or so) investment I've ever made was in an adjustable tempur-pedic bed with the massage feature.

The "new bed" smell goes away in a week or 2.

I've had mine 7 yrs.

Greatest bed I've ever owned.

To speed up the process for making the smell go away you have to "Bake" it.

I was told by the place that I purchased mine to keep it in the room and close all the windows and blast the heat in that room. It should speed up the dissipation of the off gassing chemicals.

They should hold up the line for 2 weeks and introduce an off gassing phase to the line before they package them it sounds like. Probably afraid of rats eating holes in them if they let them sit in warehouse for 2 weeks.

does not seem to matter how much I spend on a mattress, but maybe I just sleep to much.

I could still smell it after a few months and got rid of mine eventually. Felt like I was sleeping in a benzene chemical cancer fog and it would only be a matter of time before some gawd awful mutation would start occuring.

I already have a tough enough time as it is explaining the little rhino like horn that grew out of the tip of my penis...

My gal and I just spent over $4k buying the beast of the Cloud. Took a few weeks to get the smell out and would NOT soften up. Was nowhere like the store model. Bed company dude says "get up and walk around/jump on it for a couple weeks"....WTF? I should have to jump on a $4k bed to soften it up? Two months dicking around with Bedmart. They finally agree it's defective. Tell us to pick another mattress so we pick a pillow top again. It was delivered...DEFECTIVE...and now we can't get our money back. They'll deliver another pillow top, but when we did our research, that thing was worth about $2500 not $4k.
