I have seen the first portion of this video in commercials and have see the longer version months ago on YouTube, but man this longer version takes the cake. Nice to see these games taking it to the next level!

But yeah, shit is fucking awesome looking. I wish I knew about the Battlefield series when I was playing COD all the time and buying the new one every year. I play Battlefield 2 almost daily and it never gets old, and you aren't running through the same hallway every 30 seconds.

I think this game could push COD out of first place.

I like COD but people have grown tired of it, even the diehard players find it boring. The last BF was really good and I think this new one will be able get a lot more attention because of the waning interest in COD.

The new COD will probably just be another retread, this new BF looks like a totally new game.

EA has a lot of confidence in this game. It's coming out in November, at the same time as COD: Modern Warfare 3. Single-player looks amazing, even better than COD. But I'm a multi-player guy, so I have to see if BF3 can improve on BC 2. I'm getting it for sure, it'll be better than Black Ops.

Some sad news about Battlefield 3--the sick graphics only apply to the PC version. The version for consoles, cuz they run on more dated graphics processors, won't be as good as the PC version. http://www.gamebandits.com/blog/2011...as-pc-version/

That's the ONE! I fell off my chair when I first saw that video. It's like watching a MOVIE instead of playing a game. Can't wait for the next generation of consoles to STEP UP TO THE PLATE. Until then, only PC format for me.

That Unreal 3 demo is a cutscene though, not in game graphics. I need to see some game gameplay graphics first. Still looks good though

The thing I like about the BF demo and the recent Crysis 2, is that they use light to actually illuminate the environment, not just "lighting effects". If you notice, both games are very bright. I think that's a new trend in game design, as opposed to old way of making things dark then using lighting effects to brighten things up.

I am a long time FPS fan... in particular I like to just play single player. As amazing as games like this and COD look and feel I'm getting tired of getting rushed through heavily scripted scenes. I like to do my own thing. I miss that from games like Doom, Quake and the early COD and Medal Of Honor games.

I never played the Battlefield series, but I'll pick this one up. I wonder how the MP is going to play.

Even more exciting is the prospect that in 10 years, this will look as old and unsophisticated as a PS 1 game looks now. The advances in game engine technology are amazing, especially for those of us who went from a tv tennis machine to an atari 2600 in the 70s early 80s.

But I will probably still prefer Halo.

The only thing that may limit you on pushing the best graphics will be the older cards you have.

As far as BBC2 goes I tried the demo and played one MP game.

I was turned off by the fact that every time I spawned I was at the bottom of the hill and had to spend a lot of time running back to get in the fight. Because it was my first time playing I spent a lot of time running back to the fight which got annoying fast.

The other thing I didn't like was the red diamond over the enemy and how it shows even behind objects. I want to search and be surprised when I walk around the corner instead of knowing the enemy is there.

Again, that was my initial impression and it was enough to turn me away. I've heard lots of praise for BBC2 and the trailer for the new one looks incredible. So what am I missing and why should I give BBC2 a second chance? BTW, I'm on xbox 360.

I haven't played Black Ops for ages now. Just pisses me off...

I was just thinking the same thing... if my PS3 can't handle it as good as this.. I'm going back to PC gaming.

BF2 is a bit different than most shooters. You have to play a little slower so you aren't constantly re-spawning. Also, if you are in a squad, you can respawn where your squadmates are, so being in a squad is key. It adds some strategy as well, if you are the last guy left alive in your squad, don't engage in a firefight until one or two guys spawn around you, otherwise you will all have to spawn at the beginning.

The red diamond is "spotting" and it's part of the game. If someone on your team sees an enemy but can't shoot them, they can hit the "back" button and it will show their location for other team mates. It's a great mechanic, most people don't use it but it's great for calling out snipers and if your squad uses it you have a huge advantage. For example, a sniper on your team can call out the location of pretty much everyone on the other team.

But I hear what you are saying, if you are use to playing COD, BFBC2 takes a while to get use to. But if you give it a chance, it's a deeper experience than COD and you'll enjoy it.

What kind of PC requirements are there to get that quality?

That looks crazy real. I saw that commercial on television too and was super impressed. It figures you need a 5 grand machine to run it!

This will have less hacks, it's made better.

I did the exact same thing, played it a bit and got bored because I was getting my ass kicked and had to run far as hell all the time. But if you just be patient and try to sneak around carefully you will get the hang of it and respawning won't even bother you.

I really only play the conquest mode (domination in COD), in conquest you can respawn at any bases you own, as well as spawning behind people in your squad. Be careful spawning behind a teammate though because sometimes they are a second away from getting shot at or knifed and you will end up spawning right in front of that.

I also noticed after playing it for months now that the games I was put in when I first started playing were like a bunch of pros an tough as hell compared to the average game. Bad luck I guess.

Although I run around a lot now, the best way I found to get the hang of BC2 was to act like I was playing with a shotgun in COD, just sneak around slowly and keep your eye out, and most important of all - KEEP SOME COVER lol, always try to keep a wall or something next to you and limit the amount of ways someone can see you.
