(Darwinian theory) Evolutionary basis for SELF-SACRIFICE?
Sure. This post has nothing to do with "webmastering" and definitely falls under the category of "fucking around" and goofing off. Take a break from the funny pics and celebrity videos and consider this: What is the evolutionary basis for being good to others at your expense? What evolutionary "payoff" is there to laying your life/sacrificing your own good for others?
There's 2 schools of thought: altruism and kindness benefits you because you do it for your "kin" (close relatives) OR altruism benefits you because you do it for your group. Interesting debate. Source: http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/id...rom/?page=full |
i sincerely hope you commit "self-sacrifice" sometime soon

I'm kind to people so they don't get close to me ... The seduction of self-sacrifice it's purely symbolic, not biological.

helping others goes beyond just feeling good about yourself for doing it, it normally becomes a huge learning experience as well and knowledge is invaluable to us all.
