wmv files on mac

Can mac users view wmv files..do they have to download some software to do so?

I never had any luck with WMV or ASF files on my PowerBook, but then again I never really researched it to much depth. Lets put it this way, Mac users can't see them with the default settings of their browser/OS.

OS X is very impressive however.

There is a version of Windows Media Player for the Mac. However, you do indeed need to download it from microsoft of a download site.

download them and convert them to mpg and use QT...

or if streaming try downloading Win Media Player for mac..

Do you know of tools to convert wmv files to mpg? I have had lousy luck with that.

STOIK Video Converter

puts it to avi, not sure about mpeg.
