Brazilian Video Rental Store Adapts USB Pen Drives In Favor Of DVD's

This is actually pretty cool! Smart innovative idea that will reduce piracy among video renters plus each usb pen drive can hold up to 5 dvd's worth of content

I read the article and I am a little confused. Will they be replacing DVDs with these pen drives or adding them as an option? I think they idea is limited brilliance, it definitely addresses one problem but I see a somewhat limited market for it. As an example, I never watch movies on my PC. Instead when we rent or buy a video the whole family watches it on our TV, that is even how we use Netflix, using our Wii to view videos in the livingroom. I could not imagine the entire family huddled around a computer monitor to watch say, Harry Potter blah blah blah part 1 (which was rather boring) nor could I see us trying to get some way of making a pen drive to work with our current devices.

I said the same thing but my ex-wife told me that blu-ray players have a usb port...All you have to do is plug it into that and blammo......So I'm sure that it will soon be easy to do it for the general population.

Pretty much everything has a USB port now. I bought a pair of socks yesterday and they had a USB port on them.

Most HD TVs for the past 5 years have USB connections already.
