iPad 2 talk - Do you have one? - Reviews?

I didn't bother getting the iPad in the end, had too many flaws. And it was pretty obvious there would be a new one soon after.

So now I am looking at the iPad 2

Who's got one? And what are your reviews?

Si 04-13-2011 06:22 AM

Even better question, if you bought a tablet other than an iPad....

Which one? and what are your thoughts on it?

Horny Joe 04-13-2011 06:48 AM

I got one. I did not want to buy, but decided to get one after all. And I love it :) Such a neat gadget! I only use it for fun and reading news.

Care to elaborate that?

I thought the ipad 2 just has a camera and is thinner. Not a huge difference.

I think it will be a "gadget" for me aswell, not really for work or anything.

I'm still undecided.

Something is tipping me into buying one though, and that is an app which I want that isn't available on android or anything else. I only found out it was available last week and since then I have been thinking more about getting one, or something else like a xoom or playbook.

I have one and I love it. My husband bought me the iPad 1 for my birthday when it came out and he bought me the iPad 2 for my anniversary this year and I love it.

The iPad I got was the 32Gb and it was great and he now owns it, but I LOVE the iPad 2 a lot better. It seems to run smoother and faster, he got me the 64GB of this one. The picture seems to be much sharper to me on this one. And the fact it weighs less and is thinner is just an added bonus. The camera doesn't take the best pictures, but they aren't too horribly bad, if you are looking for a camera feature as your main reason, I wouldn't go there.

If you get one, get a Smart Cover for it. It wakes it up and puts it to sleep when you open or close it.... just another added cool gadget for it. lol

I did not want one, but with the new models out I am actually considering getting one.

CamChameleon 04-13-2011 07:32 AM

I had the iPad 1 since it first come out from the US and never really found much use for it other than browsing and watching youtube and a few games :) my 2 year old now uses it... thats how simple the thing is to work lol. The iPad 2 is a lot thiner and has a slicker screen plus it is quicker so they have upgraded the tech as well! Camera is good but face time sucks balls so just a gimmick! I am still trying to find more ways to use it as i still find myself surfing and checking email on it. I am looking to use it for a couch device to replace my remote controls on my media center which would make it the ultimate device in my living room :pimp

I am going to grab a smartcover thanks for the tip Tam ;-) the videos on apples site look very cool!

I must give a big shout out to www.commercegate.com as i won my iPad 2 at the Phoenix Forum last week!

So a BIG thanks to the guys at Commerce Gate. :thumbsup

Sounds good! I wouldn't be bothered about the cameras myself. Didn't know that about the smart cover that sounds great!

Yeah I looked into the nook like you mentioned before. Looking it again and waiting for a few of the alternatives to come out, I think iPad 2 still looks best out of all of them.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab was tempting but I decided against it. Might wait for the Blackberry Playbook to come out and see where it stands then.

It depends on what you use it for. I used my original iPad religiously for work and travel. It basically replaced my notebook.

I bought my iPad 2 and I notice a tremendous difference in performance. I've also purchased a ClamCase to go along with it...so it makes it an even more handy tool.

Love my iPad 2!!

I have the iPad, the iPad 2, the Archos, and the Xoom. Here's what I can tell you:

iPad is fantastic for what it is. I use it daily, multiple times per day. It's paid for itself. I've completed proposals, written code, answered e-mails, watched Netflix, played lots of apps, etc.

iPad 2 is neat because it has the camera, but it's not a very GOOD camera. I haven't taken a single shot that I actually "like" with it. I thought it'd be great for taking shots of cars I'm selling (I go through them very rapidly), but it just didn't have the detail I was looking for.

Archos is a cheaply made piece of crap, and I'd stay away from it.

I'm very happy with my Xoom. Honeycomb is a great OS, and it's nice to be able to experience it before it comes to my Thunderbolt phone. I play the heck out of Angry Birds on my Xoom while I'm taking a poop.

Hope some of that helps. I have somewhat a unique perspective, owning them all.

I got one for my birthday and love it. My favorite part is the magazine subscriptions you can get as well as the magazines that have their own apps and the interactivity they add to each issue.

Think I have seen this, I do like the keyboard idea a lot and the extra battery would be amazing.

The release is TBA though right? haven't seen it announced anywhere.

The ipad2 is great for portfolio use.

I recruit a lot of models new girls and it will easily impress them with your photography when offering them paid work.

kaori 04-13-2011 09:06 PM

I had the ipad 1... sold it for the ipad 2..
Don't really notice much of a difference between the two...
Of course, I don't really have much use for them other than occasional magazine reading...
