Holy shit! Bacon in an oven.
I watched a cooking show where this dude cooked bacon in an oven...so I had to try it. And boy am I glad I did!!! It's easy and cooks the bacon perfectly! Crispy where it's supposed to be and without the burn. I'm in love!
Oven at 400 for 15 minutes. Wow! |

thats how mama used to make it

Don't pre-heat the oven ... Make sure the oven is cold when you put the bacon in.

Now do yourself a favor, and find a butcher / specialty store that has Berkshire Bacon, and cook it the same way.

My husband must have watched that too, he started doing this a couple of months ago and now he's the only one allowed to cook it here. It saves me getting the hell beat out of me by my own breakfast. lol
He puts wax paper down and then the bacon and it doesn't seem to be so greasy and then he lays it on paper towels to drain the rest of the fat from it. |
i don't like bacon too much

very dangerous way of cooking it. in 2010 there were 2354 house fires caused by over bacon last year. 51 deaths.

My ex did this and also sprinkled the bacon with brown sugar before baking. Awesome.
|
Probably parchment paper. Parchment is impregnated with silicone and is good up to 450 degrees or so. I use it for bread and pizza and such and nothing sticks to it until you've used the same piece 5 times or so. (yeah you can reuse it)
|
way better way to do it, any fires caused by it are from people who don't pay attention to their ovens.. you can't leave the kitchen while cooking bacon regardless...
according to Bradbury paper burns at 451 F ;) |
We do this as well, only she starts it in the pan to cook off some of the fat then transfers it to the oven to finish cooking. We get flat crispy evenly cooked bacon every time.
|
Now dip it in chocolate and eat it like that.

The guy on the show dredged the bacon with flour before putting it into the oven. Most of the flour cooks away but it made the bacon cook more even. I've tried it both ways and honestly can't tell the difference, other than one has flour residue and the other doesn't. |

sinner!! |
I have done that off and on for years. I just like the way it crisps better than if it sits in its own fat and fries.
|
I broil my bacon in the oven- much better that way!

can you whisper that in my ear...slowly. |
that is the restaurant way.. we did it in the navy as well.
grease the sheet pan, place bacon on it, place in 400 degree over for about 20 minutes. flat, evenly cooked bacon. order up! ~Ray |
|
I tried it and the bacon tasted dry and shitty
|
It depends on the bacon and the cook.
|
congrats on the sale
|
Bump for bacon ...
|
Bacon is an 'unclean' meat...
|
Sausages are also best cooked in the oven. By far. 20 mins @ 180, turn them once.

Bacon in oven sounds good. It might be better than bacon in microwave or frying pan.
|
I try to only eat Kosher bacon....
