Japan nuclear crisis on same level as Chernobyl

Japan nuclear crisis on same level as Chernobyl

TOKYO ? Japan raised the severity level of the crisis at its crippled nuclear plant Tuesday to rank it on par with the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, citing cumulative radiation leaks that have contaminated the air, tap water, vegetables and seawater. Japanese nuclear regulators said the rating was being raised from 5 to 7 ? the highest level on an international scale overseen by the International Atomic Energy Agency ? after new assessments of radiation leaks from the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant since it was disabled by the March 11 tsunami.

The new ranking signifies a "major accident" that includes widespread effects on the environment and health, according to the Vienna-based IAEA.

I told you this shit would reach Chernobyl levels or beyond before it was over. Who's laughing now. :2 cents:

Thank you for your daily Japan nuclear update. It adds much value to the board.

if they're admitting chernobyl levels now i guarantee you its worse than that.

Brilliant Idea: Build a nuclear power plant on the coast in the deadliest part of the ring of fire on the pacific plate, the largest and fastest moving plate on the planet.

heard a rumour that vancouver rain is at 108 times the legal limit, gotta figure it out after work

Phoenix 04-12-2011 11:08 AM

it isnt really a funny thing, however there isnt a damn thing any of us can do

except outlaw nuclear power companies

we could outfit every single large power stand, you know the big towers that carry the lines everywhere....they could all be outfitted with a revolving center piece to capture wind power.
at the sametime, we could setup 1000 more water wheels in each province.
tidal power centers could be setup outside coastal areas.
etc etc etc
that would not only minimize risk, but bring more wealth to more people then just sitting with a few nuke owners

It is unfortunate that the Japan nuclear crisis is on same level as Chernobyl. The leaks must be stopped.

I'm very settled. I'm just enjoying everyone laughing at your pompous self all at once.

You even to some degree are most likely thinking people are your "fans".

Lets hear more about your fasting. We are all soooooo interested in what you have to say on every subject.

i post and comment about subjects that interest me and also make comments that i find funny. that's my posting style.

and i always get a kick outta guys like you that have to bring up my interest in health and wellness in a negative light, like it's some sort of snub or put down. the truly funny part is that it's obvious that by your bringing it up out of the blue, its tripping you out pretty good. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

"health and wellness" as you fast your body? That's a funny one. You don't even know how to work out properly. You're clueless about health and wellness just as you're about the majority of subjects that "interest you".

But for some reason you have yourself convinced you're an expert on a variety of subjects. It is blatantly obvious you're a wannabe.

that's where you are wrong. i don't consider myself an expert whatsoever. you confuse having an interest in a subject, immersing yourself in it, talking and discussing it as being an expert. you will never find a post by me claiming i'm an expert in anything. working out properly is a great example. i am learning how to work out properly, i've never said otherwise. doesn't mean it's not a topic that interests me and i can't talk about it or share in the interest with others who are interested in it as well.

so yeah, i am a working out wannabe. i aspire to be as good as i can possibly be when i spend time on that. you can couch that negatively if you want, but that says a lot more about you than me eh.

dyna mo 04-12-2011 11:47 AM

and if anyone were to look, they'd find i ask a lot of questions around here. photography, politics, working out, etc. hard to position myself as an expert if i'm asking questions on a variety of topics.

Vendzilla 04-12-2011 11:47 AM

Hey thats fine im not going to knock you for being interested on things. Just seems if you're interested in topics you would be more willing to hear out others opinions. each to their own.

im off topic in this thread anyway.

This nuclear crisis told us we can never be in full control of atomic energy.
