Google Ad words - fast answer appreciated
I just wanted to sign up for Google ad Words, I selected the keywords and the maximum bid, but it seems like I cannot chose different CPC for different keywords. So if a promote f.e a lesbian site and select the bid = 0.09 per click, that bid reflects all my keywords and I cannot bid 0.07 for the keyword "sex" and 0.13 for the keyword "lesbian sex". Could someone confirm this ?

you fucked it up somehow... well done.
|
Nope. You can select the cpc for each.

Isn't it possible ( like in other PPC ), simply to deposit $50 at the beginning to see how are the results and to avoid auto-billing ? |
Be careful. I bid on some highly searched keywords one time and before I activated I did a montly and yearly estimate based on their average searches. My few words could have rang up over a million a year!
Has anyone had any success with this? I started with a very small amount to check it out. ($50 maybe) and it was gone in 4 minutes or so with only 14 clicks. And yes....when I did it you could set the amount without auto billing. If you have some good keywords $50 won't last but a moment. |
you cant sepcify for each keyword in a campaign. just create a new campaign for each set of keywords for each price.

you can set daily limits per campaign and if you set a max cpc it will get you the cheapest per keyword.

Ad-words suck IMHO..
The system is designed for little non -adult sites, it's a bitch to get it to pull alot of good steady adult traffic... |
I set my daily to $3,000 per campaign (have about 6 diff campaigns) it of course never adds up to that much though.. Don't need a whole new campaign to get diff prices.. Maybe just do two ads for the same site or whatever, one with cheaper keywords, some with more expensive.. I usually write all the ones I want down in the first, see what it tells me then, then delete the more expensive keywords and put them on their own so I can force a cheaper price for the others

adwords did not pay for us. pulled all of them off.

forgot to mention.
one the main problems with google adwords is that you have to market exactly like their people want you to---right down to the types of descriptions, punctuation, etc. otherwise they won't run your ads. they want to "approve" all your ads---i.e. i have a niche website that deals with butch-femme sex---my google rep told me the lesbian "community" would be offended and i could not characterize the content that way---so this is the kind of BS you have to put up with. they want to sell you advertising for porn sites, but they also want you to be politically correct. another example---i could not use the phrase "black girl"--- google said it would offend certain viewers. everyone marketing porn knows that porno women are called "girls"---everyone except google. shit, all of my models in in their 20's and 30's. the problem with this is that these google sales consultants do not know your market as well as you do. big waste of time and $ if you can't word your ads the way you KNOW your market will respond to. |
Adwords can be very effective. Unfortunately there are some technical glitches that can make using it very frustrating. We've had to recreate our campaign there atleast 5 times. The problem seems to be tied to the fact that they base the rank not just on bid but on link popularity as well.
