Any joggers / runner here?

How fast can you run a mile?

Can you do a 5K or 10K race, if so how fast. Anyone?

I did a 10km ran a few weeks ago and did 48.34, got another run at the end of July and want to go under 45 minutes

thats a good speed, about 7:30 a mile. I've only run it a couple times, 53 minutes was my best time but i haven't run too much lately. Going to run one in a couple weeks and doing some quick training so I wont be really bad and out of shape. I'm just hoping to get under 60 mins. Ran 3.1 yesterday as practice and came in at 31 minutes with a little gas left in the tank, still got a ways to go though.

Doesn't take long to get some fitness back and start cutting your time down. Anyone who can get out and run 3.1 miles has some fitnees for sure

Thanks!
(Not ever talking about the minutes after I finished, when I lied in pain, sobbing... on the grass. What the Hell. It WAS worth it! (no one saw me anyway :p)

When I did it on the tread mill a couple times (ran 6.2 miles) It said I burned about 800 calories... Not sure how accurate that is, but it definetly will help you stay in shape if you run a lot :)

If you not crying at the end then you didn't push yourself all the way :)

In highschool I ran as follows.

400m : 54.2
800m : 2:05.2
mile : 4.49.1
3mi/5k: 17:29

RIght now I can run a mile around the mid 6's.

I exercised once.

I'm just glad I started running instead of jogging. Maybe after a few months I can start thinking about how fast I run. Right now I'm just enjoying the fact that I've lost a lot of weight

I do run, 1hour, I donīt count the distance... just the time

CurrentlySober 04-10-2011 08:15 AM

I dont EVER run, but I power walk.

I cover a mile in 14 mins...
