Hosting question

So, I am hosting with CaveCreek and I am pleased with that..
But, I would like to have a single server with another host.. a server which daily syncs all the files I have on CaveCreek.. so, in case of anything should happen with CaveCreek or likewise, I can make an easy fast switch..

In other words.. I need a single server solution, with a pretty big drive, but hardly no bandwidth needed..

What should I do?

rsync can do the backup, with a cron job.

I just pointed out how to keep both servers in sync.

I did not offer you hosting as I do no longer cater to the adult community. Sorry for the confusion and just disregard.

Have you considered a VPS, should probably be able to just mirror your sites and storage can easily be added as needed. Since you don't need the power not the bandwidth. Ask any host and I'm sure they will offer you a reasonable solution. Amerinoc has always worked out great for me and I'm sure Matt could drum up a suggestion for you too.

We can be your failover host. We'll get it setup so its a mirror of your current machine and if the current host goes down, you just switch over DNS to the other IP.

Hi,

We can do this for you, VPS or Dedicated depending on your storage needs. Send us the required storage space for a quote, https://www.amerinoc.com/clients/contact.php.

Another vote for Amerinoc. They're an awesome host.

Cyberwurx has some cheap plans and you can haggle. Look for the plan that is just under what you think you need and then request the features that will put you into a safe spot.

But they have some low price plans and if you VPS the backup, you can always have them switch you to a dedicated later and it will take about 15 minutes.

Also, they have 24/7 support every day of the year!

I can make you a great deal on a server. But if you think you won't need bandwidth how else do you think you are going to sync. Email me danny at galaxy visions dot com. How much space are you syncing? Syncing to vps might not be a bad idea if it is only for backup. Email me and we can go over a few options that might work

Hey biskoppen

I can help you out with your request. Send me your requirements and I will get you a quote asap.

Although I would be happy to provision an extremely affordable yet high quality dedicated server on which to store your backups, I would first recommend that you consider our Dedico Backup Service. For only $.25/GB/mo (sold in 25GB denominations), we will rsync the contents of any remote server you have each night, and our proprietary script will also send you a daily email letting you know whether or not the daily sync was successful. That way if there's ever a problem, you're not left with super old backups and don't find out until it's too late.

If you'd like to learn more about this, please feel free to contact me using any of the methods in my sig.

Thanks! :thumbsup

what about also a 3rd backup and setup a check box in your home or office that backs up your site locally. t hen you really got your bases covered

Can you manage your own server? If so, hit up SecuredServers:

$58/mo

Dual Core G6950 (2 x 2.8 GHZ, 3MB Cache), 2-bay Supermicro Chassis
1GB ram
250GB HDD
10mbps uplink
10mbps unmetered
5 IPs

more ram and a bigger HDD is a really cheap upgrade. I've been with them for a while now and they're probably the best host I've ever had :thumbsup

EDIT: I see you're with cavecreek, looks like they're owned by the same company. CertifiedHosting and AmeriNOC are both good choices too, hit up my sig for coupons :thumbsup
