Do the Domain Regristrars have any Liability in ref to stolen content?
It would make sense that they are as responsible as a host and the person owning and operatnig the site.
No domain = No site No hosting = No site = Less content theft. Has anything legally come from this? |
oh yeah, another people who knows shit about it and who will be shutting down sites only by their decission ... no thanks, hosting companies are enough ... if the domain is problematic, seize by authorities, but shutting domains down only cause someone didnt slept well last night, oh man ... :winkwink:

Was it REASONABLY FORESEEABLE that their services would be used to infringe?
I mean there's a big difference between a guy reserving PORNGUY.COM to host an illegal tube and a guy reserving ISTEALYOURCONTENT.COM to host an illegal tube. Also, if they were on NOTICE that a particular name combination is frequently used for infringing activities, there MIGHT be liability. |
hard to tell. some registrars are fucking jerks about it sometimes they will do it no problem. like most things on the internet a grey area.
|
Nope .....
|
You can get some traction with a trademark infringement suit though...
