Ok, this is kind of old school I guess, but the show I enjoyed the most before Sons of Anarchy, was The Shield. It was on the same station too.

Spartacus was good too.

weeds is a little more tame than those but definitely enjoyable.

Dexter gets a lot of hype but It is written quite well really.

Yea, forgot to say I have seen Weeds and The Shield, both were good. Dexter never did It for me.

None of the ones i like are on this time of the year

Ok, giving Justified a go. The Shield I have seen, good shit.

I am just getting into True Blood which is much better then I thought it would be.

Yeah, i like dexter and true blood. The first couple episodes of dexter were so-so, after that it really starts to pick up.

Being a george rr martin fan Im looking forward to game of thrones on HBO in a couple weeks. That doesnt really fit in with what you listed though.

I really enjoyed "The Shield" but "Homicide: Life on the Street" was my favorite.

I've come to realize that I enjoy shows that are kinda on-going and not a "new happening" each episode. That's why I like Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, The Wire and Sopranos so much.
