There's always a catch. I'd have to believe that the site had something up it's sleeve. Like signing you up for some monthly BS club in the fine print that charges you every month or something along those lines. Or saying that one day is for 1$ but automatically re-upping you for a month for 30$ or something.
Piracy aside, consumer trust is a key factor.

:2 cents:

Aaah.. im okay...

Tom_PM 04-04-2011 10:24 AM

Same was true in 1992 when I was on BBS' and downloading free pics at 1200 baud and there was even software available freely. Cracking copy protection was all the rage among gamers and cheapskates. There'll always be someone out there wanting to shove a product in his pocket instead of paying for it.

Imagine trying to download a tv episode torrent at 1200bps :)

Seriously though. Porn isn't dead, it's just changing.

Tom_PM 04-04-2011 10:31 AM

haha, no way. I remember starting downloads of single hi-res pictures and shutting off the monitor and going to bed.

seeandsee 04-04-2011 10:33 AM

So we have tubes, catch, rapidshare and passwords all in 1 thread there

bbobby86 04-04-2011 11:18 AM

Not sure if I agree with you. Yes, the biz has changed. No doubt about it. But there's always opportunity.

Socks 04-04-2011 01:39 PM

I get all my porn on floppies and use cshow.exe to view it.

signupdamnit 04-04-2011 02:25 PM

Paysites aren't dead. They are just a much tougher sell than they once were.

vsex 04-04-2011 04:09 PM

One quote that sums it up:

"you can just go to a torrentz.com and type in the title if you know what you are looking for

go to an online dvd store find what you like and search for it"

:Oh crap

My first modem was a 300 baud vicmodem

And i had no tape drive or storage system. So every night i had to tap in hundreds of lines of basic code for a terminal program to call up the BBS's

Cyber Fucker 04-04-2011 06:33 PM

mainstream is dead as well

.......wait, what?

Jakez 04-04-2011 06:33 PM

"I'm tempted to pay for access to this porn site that has a "1 day trial" option for $1"
"i prefer high definition porn i can't enjoy pixel and blurry porn"

This is called a sale. Fucking moron.

Exactly. Something missing? No?:disgust:Oh crap

d-null 04-04-2011 09:28 PM

for the vast majority of webmasters hoping to convert their page 2 for general keyword traffic it will be bad ratios, especially when the surfers can find all they want for free on page 1

My first modem was a 300 baud acoustic coupler, going to 1200bps was great, but at 2400bps when I bought my first 2400baud modem (which cost $350) I thought, how can it get much faster than this ? heh, how times have changed. Australians are expecting fibre to the home soon, its already starting to be rolled out.

No one has spotted the obvious, or maybe they did and want to ignore it.

A very large part of this industry relies on getting someone to sign up for 30 days recurring. Yet fewer and fewer customers are willing to do that. So they don't buy anything.

adultchatpay 04-05-2011 05:15 AM

Agree.

75% of my traffic is going to amateur hardcore sites and they still sell like cakes. The content is not widespread and is NOT on the tubes and on torrents as the sites are smallones. But to make some cash (I speak of a couple of 1000 $) you need to have lots of traffic. My sales in March 2010 were slightly better than in Feb 2011 (in March we had 3 extra days). And the last 2 weeks of March were terrible! I have also noticed there are days I sell only 30% of normal and on those days I always think to quit the biz but in the end I still have the same $ per month. And there are always days of hope: The 2 first days of April were just skyhigh in sales (in 2 day I had about 15% of my total sales of March 2011!).

I do also promote some big programs (about 25% of my traffic) and those are much tougher to sell. I am sending constant amounts of traffic but every month the sales are going down. These big ones their content is on all tubes and torrents and they suffer from piracy.

Conclusion: it is very tough but paysites are not dead yet. I can imagine for a newbie webmaster it is almost impossible to start now unless it is an additional income on top of your job. You have to search for small sites who're not over exposured and which are not on the tubes and on the torrents. If you target the traffic, you will make sales. When I see a newbie's site, he's promoting the big ones and in my opinion that is completely wrong! I see it for myself. 75% of my traffic to amateur hardcore websites brings in about 99% of my sales...

1000's of sites with non-recurring options on them, and a recurring option with it, it's not like one option wins so well that you remove the other, if anything value of join wise you drop the non-recurring - and it's not like your ratios drop because you do this.

People without question know how to stop recurring billing if they don't want it.

And recurring billing is used in every modern Company in the world... it's standard for almost everything you do in life, so people aren't really afraid of it.

thats about all u need to know.

it should be a sign to the big programs to start taking piracy seriously. the small guys are doing better these days than the brograms as long as they are getting traffic. if they aren't getting traffic, then the problem is marketing not piracy.
