Wow never do porn in Nebraska lol (pics, video and news story)
So I do have to say it's a little nice that the police are not exactly messing with me but they are messing with my ex husband lol. He is trying to open a club here in Lincoln, NE but because of his association with my website the city won't allow him to open and are doing everything in there power to prove it. Just goes to show we still have a long ways to go in the adult world. Melissa
Here is the story that just came out in today's paper! I am jealous a little, he has a bigger story than I ever got haha... http://www.journalstar.com/news/loca...bd357f657.html http://www.melissamidwest.com/gfy/ticket.jpg http://www.melissamidwest.com/gfy/cheerleaders.jpg http://www.melissamidwest.com/policevideo.html |
you never learn.
|
Great free publicity.
Slightly Offtopic: I bet those regional newspapers' online editions would make a mint just by selling backlinks. Big G loves online newspapers. Possible Revenue stream: not just backlinks but paid placements, feed mentions, ets. Much better road to take than the one being taken by mainstream newspapers nowadays: bitching and moaning |
Length of article about a liquor license > length of articles on middle east turmoil, Japan's nuclear crisis, and our ongoing wars, combined.
|
Love your rumpings with the law, Melissa ...
|
did you sue?
|
Melissa became an online sensation after the Journal Star wrote about the ticket and national news organizations picked up the story. In one year, Shane Harrington said, he made $2 million from the site.

Not yet but he will consider it I'm sure I mean he is losing a lot of money not being open!!! |

No they never learn lol I will always push back and so far I have always won! I may not have as much power as before but at the end of the day they are trying to do the same thing to him as they did to me. He was always there for me so I figure I should do the same for him. |
It obvious that they dont like you there and consider you to be a nuisance, along with anybody associated with you.

Deja Vu... :1orglaugh

he still owns part of your website the story says - why? they seemed to give him the message that if he divested himself of his ownership in it that he would have an easier time getting the liquor license.
bottom line - you're in Nebraska, the Bible Belt. keep up the good fight! |
Quote:
Lets hope for Deja Vu all the way around! At the end if there was a winner on my stuff it was def me and that's why they are still mad after all these years :winkwink: |

That's the thing he does own part of it and since having a nude website is NOT against the law in Nebraska there is no reason for him to sell it. The 2 companies have nothing to do with each other, it's just there way to make him look bad. If he sold he would be showing everyone that there was something wrong with what he was doing when it fact there is not. Someone has to fight them but I am glad it's him this time and not me... |
it may sound weird, but i enjoy the freedom in ex-communist, ex-socialist eastern europe...
and the article sounds like it was written by a 12 year old |
Join the club, once you have been made a target. it will never go away.
Kind of like trying to do business here in GFY while others dedicate themselves to interfering. |
Why not move?
|
Quote:
This is our home, all of our family and friends live here. He has a kid that goes to school here and so on it's not that easy to just pack up. Also one should not have to leave their home because they are a little different. That's what's wrong with people today everyone has lost there fight. I mean back when I was getting in all my trouble everyone said just move hardly anyone said fight because it's the right thing to do. I mean I was getting naked but he just wants to open a bar. We have strip clubs in Lincoln, NE but we can't have a normal bar run by someone who is associated with naked people? That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. |
best of luck
|
Is it not that complicated to have him tell them that he's no longer part of your site(even though you and him can work out your own arrangement), so that he can then move forward with his plans?

Thanks and luck will help, it always does... |

Thanks yes he has been thinking about this but again it comes down to he shouldn't have to, he is not breaking any laws nor are there any laws that state if you are in the adult business you can't own a club... |
I won't, thanks for the advice... :upsidedow

news story with certain keywords listed at major news site already in Google's news database G scrapes around (hypocritical no? considering the Farmer/Panda beatdown, I mean, update :1orglaugh) for other news sources and if they place you enough times, you're in their news database. I'm assuming this is more of a marathon than a sprint unless you're already a well known regional offline brand that got on the web fairly recently. There's a reason why I get news rewrite jobs. I suppose one key factor for the process above is you have to be consistent regarding news rewrites for your site and do it for a few quarters until you get picked up, if ever. Most clients who order rewrites have a focused niche audience and aren't really shooting for G syndication. By the way, if anyone needs news rewrites, we do them cheaply :) [email protected] |
There are a-lot of cold frigid hateful due to sexual inhibitions/frustrations people here, for sure. If they're not happy, they don't want YOU to be. Same thing down here, in Kansas.
I never got the point of that. The "My life sucks, so yours should too." mentality. Hell. When I'm driving down the street in my broken down pile of shit and a new expensive automobile drives by I think "That's a nice car" not "That son of a bitch, I hate him, he has a new car!" Keep fighting them They have all but killed my soul out here... And the more I try to help people, the more kicks I get to my handsome face.. but I never die and some day they'll remember who the fuck I am :) |

Thanks and you are soooo rigth!!! |

Status: Up and taking joins! http://join.melissamidwest.com/signup/signup.php Talk about guts. You're lucky I was not an affiliate of yours because if I were and you did this to me I'd be on the phone to the police and the media over there in Lincoln, NE in order to make sure they knew about what you are doing to your affiliates. Do the right thing. 1. Either keep paying for rebills or pay up front 2-3 months worth for each rebill outstanding. 2. Payout all monies previously owed including those below the payout limit. Or don't be surprised if someone gets pissed and karma bites you in the ass in some way. |

I agree... the right thing to do would be to pay out everyone, even the ones under the minimum... and I love your idea of paying the rebills for 2 months (because that is the average retention)... I don't think prepaying them is the answer, because you don't know who is going to rebill for those 2 months, but at least say "Hey I am closing down shop, I will pay everyone who is owed money over the course of the next 3 or 4 pay periods" It's a lot of accounting to do when people are under the minimum so giving a 3 or 4 pay periods time frame to go through everyone is fair... and then pay the the rebills for 2 months... :glugglug I have always liked Melissa... I think she is a totally cool chick, and I think (hope) she will think about this and arrange some sort of plan to help those who helped her... because you don't want to burn your bridges... you take care of the people here and they will always come back and take care of you when you need it... everyone always comes back... LOL so it's not a good bridge to burn... IMO... |
old ccbill prog still up
