Phoenix Forum - LOST IPAD! - Reward Offered!

I left my iPad in the gym at the hotel this morning at about 10AM. I'd gladly offer a brand new iPad to anyone who's able to get mine back to me. If you happen to locate it hit up Allie or I at the show or post here.

Thanks, Jake

brassmonkey 04-02-2011 12:31 PM

Thanls for the bump Rob.

TripleXPrint 04-02-2011 03:38 PM

Do you have a MobileMe account? If so, you can locate it. It also allows you to send a message to anyone that has it. If all else fails, you can remotely nuke it or apply a password to lock whomever has it out. The location it gives is a general proximity so that might not help if the culprit is still in the hotel.

Shitty luck bro, hope you find it.

Mickey_ 04-02-2011 03:54 PM

Hope it makes its way back to you, here's a bump.

Sharky 04-02-2011 06:59 PM

Man I hope you find it. The MobileMe lookup is pretty sweet. You can even send a message to the screen with info on how to contact you to return it. I doubt anyone at the show would jack it, but the hotel staff may. you never know...

SDA CASH - Banned for Life AGAIN 04-02-2011 07:01 PM

I snuck in there and took it, it's at the Pawn shop

naw really, anyone who buys a Ipad2 should activate the GPS theft device, so when you lose, misplace or it get's stolen you can located from any computer through apple.

Yup low jack for computers

Sam - Mr. Skin 04-02-2011 07:10 PM

pristine 04-02-2011 08:00 PM

you shouldn't have left it at the gym, gone forever.

Zorgman 04-02-2011 08:11 PM

Why would you take your ipad to the gym? Camera on?

Rangermoore 04-02-2011 08:20 PM

I am always amazed how people lose things like cell phones, IPADS, etc... If they were that important people would NOT leave them laying around.. Must not have been that important.. JMO

LiveDose 04-02-2011 10:20 PM

I own a gym, and people bring their Ipads. I always ask them what the fuck you need that for in the gym.

It's not really like Lojack. They actually have LoJack for computers...it's loaded on my Macbook right now. With Lojack, if your computer goes missing they actively work with the police to locate and recover your pc.

A huge thanks to Andy, Nick, Sean, and Sherry from CCbill and the TMP security staff for tracking down my iPad. It was safely returned to me yesterday afternoon, still sorting out the details as to exactly how it was found. Just to clarify, it was never "stolen", I simply left it sitting on a cardio machine at the gym and didn't realize I had done so until about an hour later.

Definitely going to set-up mobile me when I get home. Sometimes we forget about how much information we have on our mobile devices until we lose one!

~Ray 04-03-2011 09:01 AM

good job CCBill

AAB 04-03-2011 09:14 AM

It's a blessing in disguise. You are rid of that piece of junk, now go and get yourself a netbook. You'll be able to do more and it'll cost you less.

Really? I could think of an infinite number of ways to use an iPad to turn a 30-minute mind -numbing cardio warm-up into a period of productivity. Personally, I use the time to respond to e-mail, read books (iBooks), keep up with current events, surf industry related sites, etc.

When I was in the Marine Corps, the Commandant had a rather crude saying, "education by defecation". The idea being that we all spend at least 5-10 minutes a day on the shitter so rather than wasting that time why not pickup a service manual (no iPads back then) and learn everything there is to know about not only your own occupational specialty but also that of your peers (may save your life and those around you one day). Same applies at the gym, you can choose to stare off into space for 30 minutes or spend the time bettering yourself in one way or another.

ace0r 04-03-2011 09:32 AM

always find it humorous when i see dipshits toying with ipads or kindles while trying to get a workout in

Personally, I find it "humorous" when I see "dipshits" wasting 30 minutes staring off into space while grinding away on a cardio machine. Now if you're talking about the "dipshits" that are lifting and feel the need to "toy" with their mobile device between every set then yes I agree that's a little bit ridiculous.

I have used mine to keep track of my sets / weights. Sure beats the ole pen and paper... especially when your chicken scratch is as bad as mine.

Glad you got it back ;)

At my age working out is more for health purposes than beach body purposes so I use it as a form of stress relief. It's one of the only times I actually shut myself off from the outside world. Work, family, friends...everything. I shove in the ear buds and everything for an hour is all about me. Self reflection, thought, meditation, etc.

Therefore I am one of those people you see staring off into space between sets. It's usually because I'm deep in thought or trying to figure out the mirror configuration so I can stare at the hottie on the stairclimber without looking like Jimmy Walker the midnight stalker. At Golds you can use a 3 mirror bankshot to get your motivation on without feeling like a perv. But I digress...

Glad you found your ipad. :thumbsup

A missing item at an adult show and not one single post about Anal Hobbit?

I am truly shocked.

So not true. We have them all and the ipad interface is second to none.

Right on.. Only people who use the gym as a "hang out" or a place to "hit on chicks" would bring stupid toys in with them.. They are not serious about working out at all.. :2 cents:

Another good bit of advice is to sync it often, so if it ever goes mia you do not lose all you the data.

I read that areticle....
He said this "That is also something I would call typical of Apple as usability and functionality have never been strong features of any Apple product. Instead of proper engineering, Apple clearly puts maximum focus on cute design. Regardless of how unusable a gadget is, for as long as it looks cool and has a cool screen, it seems to be enough to trick many people into buying."

lololol
