Gamers - what are you playing?

Haven't picked up a game since December. Been playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and GT5 since then.

I've only got the PS3 at the moment and a Wii. My old xbox decided to do the magical 3 rings of death to me about a month ago so need a new one :disgust otherwise I would probably go and pick up a copy of homefront because that looks excellent!

So what are you playing at the moment?

I'm open to any suggestions I don't have a general genre I like to stick to :)

chronig 03-31-2011 09:37 AM

Thread should've been titled "Console toting faggots, what are you playing?" :winkwink:

:1orglaugh PC Gamer?

I'm open to PC games aswell, just don't play them as often :)

justinsain 03-31-2011 09:50 AM

I did Homefront and it was ok. Rental at best.

Right now I'm playing Test Drive Unlimited 2 and it's a blast. I'm about a third
of the way through and been playing it almost every night since it's early Feb release.

I'm headed down to my BB to see if I can pick up Crysis 2 which has been getting great reviews and said to be one of the best games yet graphic wise. ( console ).

If they don't have it in I might pick up the new NASCAR 2011 release but those have pretty much sucked :Oh crap

alexchechs 03-31-2011 09:55 AM

I need to get some new games. Havent picked up anything since last year and played the hell out of Final Fantasy. Pure has been my latest go to as well.

Most my gaming time is spent on Fifa 11 on the PS3.

Not on Black Ops much at all now.

Crysis might be worth taking a look at! I don't know if Test Drive could drag me away from GT5....

Nascar don't interest me at all really, and there is some Nascar on GT5.

I follow a gamer forum and most everyone dropped Homefront for Crysis which they described as a mix of COD and Halo. Beautiful graphics and fun to play. Defiantly worth it if you like FPS.

As far as TDU2 goes, I was playing Forza 3 constantly but it got to be kind of a grind after awhile. TDU2 is just plain fun and gives you everything that GT5 and Forza 3 doesn't. It has lots of variety when it comes to game play. It's an open world which makes the graphics suffer at times but it can also be great with a day to night cycle and changing weather. Driving along the coast as the sun sets is just plain cool. I just finished a one lap around Oahu time trial in traffic that took 54 minutes to complete and it had me white knuckled the whole way :) I highly recommend it if you like driving games.

It's available for 360, PS3 and PC

There is also a Casino add-on you can download for a price. ( 360 is 800pts off the market place ) You can go to the casino and walk around with your avatar and play slots, poker and roulette to win in game money to buy cars and houses and other stuff. You can also play a slot with a chance to win a Audi R8 Spyder ( in game ). There's a bar where you can buy other online players drinks and a store to buy clothes for your avatar. Lot of fun and adds a lot to the game plus it gives you another avenue to obtain money to buy stuff in the game. Well worth it in my opinion :thumbsup

Not playing much else until BF3 and Twisted Metal come out.

If it doesn't have fake wood grain, it doesn't deserve a place in the home.

Yeah, you heard me.

jollyhumper 03-31-2011 11:11 AM

Rift. Medal of Honor. Peggles.

But haven't been playing since I started "this" project a month ago. I'll guess I can find time to play again around easter.

Consoles? Yech. (Never got the hang on those controllers.... )

I bought the previous Fight Night, but when you play online all people do is button bash, and the fights just end up shit. I don't see the fun in someone just pressing the punch button as fast as they can for 5 or 6 rounds.

I then downloaded the demo for the new game, played 2 games online, and bam! Exact same as before. People just waste it. Apart from that it is actually a damn good boxing game, just a pity only fights against the computer are the only one's worthwhile...

weecey 03-31-2011 12:03 PM

I had a lot of fun on bulletstorm, best game I've played for a while..
I'm now onto Cysis, looking good so far!

Which Final Fantasy? I started playing FFXI again because my comp specs aren't good enough for FFXIV.

If you do play ffxi, what server are you on?

How do free to play MMORPGs compare to WOW?

Bulletstorm? is that the one that was advertised on TV a lot recently? That does look pretty good!

Icy 03-31-2011 01:07 PM

Crysis 2....take the ride. It's spectacular. There are some action set pieces in some very familiar New York city landmarks that put any movie to shame. As someone who has walked through Grand Central station hundreds of time, I can tell you it looks exactly the way its supposed to, and there's a kick ass fight in there. The stuff that happens on the Queensboro bridge will blow your mind.

On the PS3, I recently played Bulletstorm(fun) and started Killzone 3 with the move Sharpshooter controller.

On my radar is Red Faction Amrageddon.

mynameisjim 03-31-2011 01:14 PM

Still cold here so still playing games for a few more weeks.

Crysis 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 3.

If you want a game that will take you months to get decent at, check out Marvel vs Capcom.

Playing Black Ops until this comes out April 19th. Demo available at online Playstation store.

I downloaded Worms:Armageddon to the Xbox360 last weekend and had a great time blasting away my man's team for an hour or two. Funny how the $5 games can be more enjoyable than the $70 games sometimes.

Playing a lot of 'Gun Game' and 'One in The Chamber' on Black Ops lately. Looking forward to picking up the new Red Faction shortly...

PCer here. Playing Mass Effect at the moment, great game I must say. Before that I spent some time playing Left4Dead 2, and before that L4D1 of course. Both good zombie shooters, and I really wasn't much interested in killing zomboes before trying those.

I'll be buying Mass Effect 2 shortly. Like I said, the first one is pretty great. Great story, every engaging, lots of replay value. Single player RPG though, probably not for everyone.

garce 03-31-2011 10:07 PM

I HATE playing any FPS's or RTS's on my consoles. I stopped buying those years ago. I'm holding out for Diablo III on the PC, and L.A. NOIR on the console.

I loved Red Dead, and I've recently played NFS Hot Pursuit - but if any game needs precise movement, I much prefer my PC and its trackball.

For PS3, I'm basically grabbing the free games from Playstation Plus. For serious shooters, I'll play them on my PC.

adultchatpay 03-31-2011 11:28 PM

startcraft, more on online games

justinsain 04-01-2011 07:45 AM

I picked up Crysis 2 for the 360 last night and played the SP for a couple hours.
I've been playing the COD games for so long it's a bit of an adjustment to get into the sci-fi aspect of the weapons and shields and stuff. Got stuck in a battle for a bit and then I remembered that I had the invisible cloak thingy so I just activated that and walked right on by :)

Graphics and the settings are awesome and so are the battles. Sound is good but hearing your own footsteps is annoying because you stop but the steps keep coming and you think someone is coming up behind you. I played a few MP matches and it looks like it could be a lot of fun. I just didn't get into it long enough to figure out all the features. The MP maps were incredibly detailed.

Just a few hours in and it's got my full attention so I'm going to highly recommend this game :thumbsup
