If you don't know what you are doing you are over these days. The amount of investment and skill it takes to turn profit these days is quite insane.

The gap has officially widened and people are being left behind. For the people that know what they are doing there is still massive profit to be made. Those behind or that are new are in for a rude awakening.

worry less about converting to a new standard and start over. i never get emotionally or in anyway attached to my projects. if they arent making me profit i burn them and move on.

it is better to start something new and it make you money 3 months down the road then to continually try to keep something afloat overtime that is not banking.

easier said than done though.

I just came up with a fresh new idea. I'm going to put 30 small pictures in a table that each link to a larger picture of the same. I might even throw a 486x60 banner above, in the middle and below the table of pictures. I just signed up for a sextracker account to keep track of the visits as well.

I've been hanging around GFY for almost a decade - I started making adult sites a few years before that, btw - because its more fun (but less profitable) that working at McDonalds.

I'm not rich - not even very wealthy now. I was close back in the day, but I made some very bad decisions.

Still, I don't see another business that lets me work a few hours a month, pays the bills, and puts my kids through college.

I haven't manually updated my sites since Feb 17 (I just checked) - and I don't plan on working again until after the summer (besides studying and gathering information).

Business is not bad. And I have no idea why I typed this.

This is my last post on GFY. I'm out.

I wish to thank everyone who helped me during these years. I did well thanks to GFY crew.

It is much harder than 5 years back but I am still making good cash.

I alsoo think we all saw a serious drop in sales since the Japan disaster of about 3 weeks back, start of spring, war in Lybia, etc.

However it is not that easy anymore!

Money is not gone. It just went to all of the big tube site owners.

Always have in mind that while you give up you're giving us more clients and more sales... Adult isnt going anywhere, think of new stuff, new strategies its all about that man.. Dont be affraid to change your ways even if you think they're not profitable... the most ridiculous the idea, the best. Show some muscle

The good times are over, the days of throwing up a site with 50 cheap scenes and then slinging a ton of traffic at it are gone. The day's of 1 in a 1,000 porn surfers buying something are gone. Not hits to a site, surfers on a Tube or TGP site.

The answer is get out to another field, retire like me, put up a tube, hang on till it makes a loss or what?

I agree, lot of things have changed in the past few years, we need to work out new strategies and be more creative. I also think surfers are fed up with seeing the same content all over and fed up with irritating pop-ups, pop-unders, IM ads, etc. :2 cents:
