Amazing how i can surf all day with no issues, yet i come to GFY an Adult Webmaster board and shit pops up. Unreal actually! If it's anyone's sig then they need to sort that shit or get banned...

It's not in someone's sig because I've had it from the home page, more likely an advertiser.

hmm i've had the same thing on both my laptop and my work station at the office... didn't tie it to here though...

I do applications approvals here so I load up a lot of crazy urls checking those so i assumed it was from that.

Those phoney virus scans are all over now days. I just use CCleaner to purge the .exe which was dl'd usually to a temp dir in C:\Users\Owner.. somewhere. Seems to get rid of it.

But they can wreak havok sometimes so be sure to get rid of the .exe

or get "Starter" or such to see the process that is running and hence the location.

I've got it too, twice.

Havent gotten it, but I did have some banner blocking the browser back button yesterday. Just ran ccleaner to clear temp files anyway and checked that virus scanner is up to date.

The last time I suddenly had IE redirecting me like crazy... I suddenly could not boot or start up (corrupted boot path) and had to reformat so when you are actually getting redirected it's not good.

The virus scanner bs seems harmless but if IE starts darting you around I start to worry.

What happens is the virus pops some funky multi-browsers, sites or pop ups which can hang your system and stuff then goes haywire.

lol I still like IE. But make sure you have IE8. IE7 will get ya messed with for sure.

I do use Firefox (ffvb) for GFY tho so maybe that is why I dont get nothing anymore. hehe

for example.. i like the right click Create Shortcut that firefox doesnt have.. i suppose there is an "add on" somewhere..

you don't test your sites in ie? that isn't very smart...

I've lost back button function several times since my post here and the only common factor I've yet found is a small banner on the bottom left from easyflirt that reads singles365.

I've not gotten a virus warning, and am not concluding that banner has anything wrong with it. I only tell you that the only common thing I can see when I lose the back button is that specific banner and link on the page.

Exactly. They get by on the fact that have a tiny marketshare. Why write trojans and worms for Mac when you can write them for an OS that has 5 times the marketshare? People create malware to make money, they're going to go where the most bang for their buck is.
