Who are they exactly? Is it a real dating site or a front for a gf sorta site?

Seems like your typical fake profile dating site to me. I've seen fake profiles of non-exclusive content I own, so that's why I make this assumption.

They have some nice looking api ads and promo tools. Throw those on some high traffic tubes or other sites and probably make a killing.
