I was just doing a search for one of my sites on google and I noticed a page that listed all my sites that use the same google analytics account.

I wonder if anybody has decided not to use google analytics on their sites for this reason, or if there's some way to make this not happen. There are several reasons I wouldn't necessarily want the whole world knowing my entire inventory of domains.

It's the same with adsense. Sucks.

What site reveals the information?

Why would you not use it because of that? Couldn't you simply use a different account for each?

It is a massive pain, but I make accounts for all my domains. Who knows if google uses your IP when you login to see what you own. I don't think anyone knows how deep their anti-cheating stuff goes.

Obviously I will be needing some additional gmail accounts. I wonder if it would be acceptable for convenience sake to share the profile with my main account, so I dont have to keep track of dozens of logins for analytics

Move on a paid analytics platform or use Google Analytics as a pro.

I don't use it just in case, there is also no Google stuff on my personal PC just in case as well. I'm not a whore of Google, Google is my whore!

same here, call it paranoid but i think it's the smart thing to do

ALL of Google's free services track as much as possible of what you do. That INCLUDES different GMail accounts, Analytics accounts and so on. Sure, it's not as easy to track different accounts as belonging to the same person, but they do it whenever possible. So if you use ANYTHING by Google, prepare to have your privacy blown to shit.

I've recently noticed that sometimes my search results will change based on if I have a gmail account open in my browser or not. It seems what it is doing is reading my mail and mixing some of the things found inside in with what I search for. Doesn't happen every time though, just here and there. When I notice it, I'll play with it and change gmail accounts and watch the different results.

I'm not bothered by the analytics signature (I don't use it) but the adsense association does bug me. It would be nice if adsense was able to do subaccounts, or a per-site ID. Harder to set up different adsense accounts since they're in your name (they have to know who to pay...)

That's very short sighted of you. In terms of SEO, there is some very strong evidence that sites using analytics have a slight advantage.

yeah, great advantage to hand all the stats about your website straight to google so that they have more reasons to ban you
