RANT!!! Is it soo fucking hard to just say YES or NO?

[RANT] Why can't people just fucking respond to messages/emails/texts? with a simple YES or NO?

Was supposed to meet someone today, so I sent them a message yesterday "Are you coming tomorrow?" No response

Sent them another message today "Are you coming today?" No response

The cunt is online aswell! why can't they just fucking reply?

Happened a couple weeks ago aswell with a different person.

I'd rather be told to fuck off than have someone not respond at all. It's so fucking annoying!

If they would have replied "maybe" that would have been better than nothing.....

Is it because people feel if they say no they need to make an excuse?

TheDoc 03-25-2011 03:32 PM

Sí...... that okay? :)

Right now, myself and a designer, both using google, keep having each others mail go into spam box. The 'net's not perfect, give her a call.

Sí :thumbsup

:1orglaugh Trust me they got the messages. Any reply would have been sufficient that's what I'm saying. Yes or No, Doesn't take long to type or send via text or anything. Both people had my number aswell so no reason to not atleast send a txt.

seeandsee 03-25-2011 03:42 PM

maybe they are online only into your IM program :)

Jayvis 03-25-2011 03:57 PM

lol I feel your pain.

I made a thread a week ago asking for people that can do traffic trades... I got like 12 replies, all of them interested since they took the time to reply to the thread. I hit all of them up on email/ICQ (yes both) and got nothing back... not even a "we changed our minds" or "we don't want traffic any longer".

Good point... I appear online pretty much 24/7. I'm always on facebook, but never visit it. And if my browser is closed, I don't get any email notices until I open the browser.

Harmon 03-25-2011 04:00 PM

Sometimes. "if you have nothing better to say... don't say anything at all."

Or, "some things are better left unsaid."

Or, "nobody cares."

zseano 03-25-2011 04:04 PM

Some people feel when they say no to someone, you'll end up hatin' on them o_O I guess this is the way life is.. and always will be :P

They were waiting to see if a better option came along so don't want to commit one way or the other.

fatfoo 03-25-2011 05:42 PM

Some people check their communication devices more frequently than others. Maybe you check for calls every hour. Maybe you check for calls every 10 minutes. Some people like to set prior notices or schedule a call. A delayed response rather than a quick response may be a bad thing. Perhaps sometimes you feel like you should reply within seconds to what someone is saying. Good luck!

Spunky 03-25-2011 05:59 PM

They don't like you

Chosen 03-25-2011 06:45 PM

Yeah it sucks to be ignored, ask fatfoo :)

This is what I think it is mostly

No is seen as being impolite :disgust

It is so easy to see when people make excuses, or ignore you. A response would be much more satisfactory. Even if it is No or Fuck off.

That's the other thing, both times it was business related and that pisses me off even more. I don't care if somebody I personally know ignores me (as weird as that sounds) because I usually know why they are doing it. If I send one of my friends a message when they are busy and I know they are working or whatever I don't care if they don't message me back.

But when it is business related and I don't get a response it really winds me up!

Loki 03-26-2011 01:39 AM

I deal with that ALLLLL the time, I almost look at it as part of internet life anymore lol

I have some buyers for example who contact ME and tell me they are interested in something, I reply back and give them (a hell of a) price break and the they NEVER REPLY BACK (and I KNOW they at least opened the mail as I always use the read requests in biz mailings)

Or I get people who I CONTACT that after a few mail exchanges just stop replying and drop off the face of the earth.

on the other side of net biz I have a mainstream client who is NOTORIOUS in emailing me stuff like "I'll call you in 2 hours" or "We'll talk later this evening" and like 2 or 3 days later they finally call.

The WORST part is I feel like a dick when I have to email them here and there with stuff like "just touching base....." or "hey you asked about ....." or "are you still wanting....."

I know ppl get busy, but it doesn't take but a moment to respond with "things got busy we'll talk soon"

If you dont hear "yes" then assume it means no. Very few people understand the concept of positive communication.

Simple.

Antonio 03-26-2011 02:52 AM

if you are too pussy to even call her, why would she bother?

Was it a woman? Cause my woman always writes these long ass messages to me then bitches about me giving a yes or no answer in return. Often times she doesn't reply anything but she will send me messages on Skype.

I would have to agree with you, i'd rather be told to fuck off than not get any reply. Super fucking annoying, that's why i call. :1orglaugh

marlboroack 03-26-2011 05:32 AM

I hope you are not courting her through a text message tho.... Cause then i would call you a pussy. :)

"maybe" always means "no" but they just can't give you a good reason.

Yeah you are in the same boat as me :1orglaugh

It gets frustrating more than anything, and I hate having to send them emails/messages or whatever like "Hi just wondering if......" etc. Like you said.

I would much rather hear "not interested anymore" "changed my mind" "no" or "fuck off" :1orglaugh

:1orglaugh I'm not courting anyone through text messages. It's business related. That's why it frustrates me I think. The 2 people I'm getting annoyed at don't seem to notice how important it is that I get a response from them asap.

SpicyM 03-26-2011 10:54 AM

happens to me all the time, peoples attitude and behaviour is often retarded and childish

True... I hate text, So I always call people back.

I dont like people that text, then when you call them back, they say they cant talk at the time, but can text by using a text and not answering. Yet expect you to have time to text...

Like WTF! People are a pain in the arse :thumbsup

papill0n 03-26-2011 02:47 PM

I wouldnt deal with anyone who disrespected me like that.

cam_girls 03-26-2011 03:11 PM

I was thinking about all the wasted emails to people who never reply so I made an inquiry on EMAILLOOKUP.com yesterday!

Basically you type in the eMail and it gives you the name and company and thumbs ups and thumbs downs every time they don't reply to someone! And LAST-REPLY-DATE as logged by the website.

You wouldn't be able to view companies email lists though, just the email you type in or the persons name to get their email.

Of course they never replied to the inquiry! :1orglaugh

halfpint 03-26-2011 03:16 PM

Very easy way to get a rapid responce back is to send them a message calling them a stupid fucking whore of a cunt :)

Scott McD 03-26-2011 03:43 PM

Some people never respond to a text message now either.

If it's not on Facebook, they just don't bother replying. Fucking shit faced assholes !!

I don't like being nasty, but I might just take this direction on these matters and see how they like it. If they contact me looking for anything I will probably give them a response (which is all I wanted) but, it won't be a pretty one.

nation-x 03-27-2011 06:34 AM

common courtesy disappeared with the appearance of sitcom mentality

MediaGuy 03-27-2011 10:57 AM

Well it can be an easy solution to be definite on the positive or negative side, but this would probably not always reflect the reality of the consideration of the question and thus qualifiers would always be demanded beyond a simple either/or response.

when you're a small minority that understands that concept has it ever occured to you that this concept sucks?

in a business relationship (and personal as well) i expect an answer when i ask something and especially if you asked me something and i spent time and work to send you a reply. not answering is not a concept, it's bad manners.
