my heart breaks for all that so many of the families did, and still are dealing with in the hardest hit areas. I have friends and friends of friends there and it's heart wrenching to say the least.

I admire their tenacity

Unbelievable.. I also saw something showing Sendai airport was open for business again too. That was under water and had so much debris all around it.

IF that was any road in Montreal they would stick a piece of scotch tape on it, and then say "eh, Ta ber nak, Le travail est terminé! Temps pour une autre vacances de la construction! Mangez ma merde!".

They are really amazing people and if americans had that kind of go-get-it mind set we would be soo much better off.

Japan has one serious war chest built up for disasters, far passing what we have. They have something like 20% of the value of the GDP is in liquid assets, set aside for events just like this.

That's a serious pile of money you can instantly toss at the problem.
