You find those "Live chat" floating windows annoying?
 

You hit a site then one of those floating windows pops up asking "Yo need help" ..

You find that annoying?

Usually yes.

But last week I actually had one pop up over a 9 mile long email to support form and the (real!!) person in the chat window sorted me out with what I wanted quicker than the form would have done.

ANYTHING that pops up over the content I'm trying to fucking read is annoying. Those survey box things are just as bad as the live chat boxes.

Or worse, click. Many times u see a link at the bottom of a page (u know...$webmasters$) and at the moment you try to click it the freaking popup comes up and you cant get it to move.

Planning to try some on your gay sites? I'm sure there must be a better way for you to meet guys..

If I click on them and want the support, nothing beats live help.

If it's one of those that popup when I'm trying to leave or on it's own somehow, I LOVE to fuck with the person on the other end.

Most of the time, yes...

single most important sales tool I have on my website. Its not floating though, its sits on lower right hand corner of the screen and I'd say about 50% of my sales engage in chat first.

But, I am working in a market where people are skeptical. So most chats are about checking stock, how we ship, how to pay etc.

i dont really go to any sites that use the popover windows , but when i login to webair the "chat" window pops right over top of the login box..
