That's such an absolutely, horribly, shitty song, it must have been a ploy. Some professionals got together, and brainstormed how to make something go viral, and huge. Looks like they pulled it off. :)

$2500? Where do you get video of that quality made for that much? That video alone is mid 5 figures budget, wouldn't be surprised if it went into 6.

Look up that company, they make videos/music for rich kids with no talent.
