Depends on the content, what niche(s) you are using.

I'm not sure whether ppc programs are the best for a blog, it's better for high traffic site with a lot of free videos.

Dating and cams are always a good addition to the promotion of paysites in your niche.

What alternatives do I have for a blog, other than PPC?

Like I said, cams, dating or try programs like Totemcash or FN Cash and sell something users don't get for free on tubes.
