Yep, but there are loop holes. Chucky Cheese, Disney, and tons of other places do this where you trade US currency for their exclusive currency that is only accepted by them. It violates the spirit of the same law, but because they are businesses with high-paid lawyers, they are not considered terrorists. But, you or I? We get water boarded.

Nothing more than a witch hunt.. Ithica Hours has been in existence for many years. They better get use to it and I believe this will be overturned. My state is even considering/preparing for it's own currency to prepare for the inevitable collapse of the dollar. I guess the whole state will be considered domestic terrorists then.

I believe that is the value of the metals used for the coins. So price of gold or silver if melted down and sold.

Interestingly, many state chartered banks at well as businesses and notable individuals issued "scrip" currency during the Great Depression.
