Well... it's SUPER MOON time. Shit fall apart yet?

Yes? No?

I'm near the water and the tide isn't even higher. Thinking super moon is a fraud.

dyna mo 03-19-2011 12:33 PM

i hope it's fraud, for charlie's sake.

fatfoo 03-19-2011 12:43 PM

The Super Moon is happening right now. According to experts, the supermoon phenomenon, shows as the moon reaches its closest point to the earth.

She is beautiful.

Tom_PM 03-19-2011 12:46 PM

My egg sandwich tasted ok. Nothing else to report at this time.

loreen 03-19-2011 12:55 PM

The same supermoon as in 1993 when nothing happened? :)

Kiopa_Matt 03-19-2011 01:02 PM

Went to the market with my better half around 1am tonight. He pointed up at the moon, and said it was extremely good luck.

Then again, I was at a wedding a few days ago, where during the reception random people would yell at the top of their lungs, "pii bpai leeuy!!!", screaming at the ghosts to go away while the newly wed couple were being married. So who knows...

TurboAngel 03-19-2011 01:21 PM

My dog's are being soooooo bad that must be why.

DWB 03-19-2011 01:26 PM

Since I posted not too long ago, the waves are really starting to kick up. The fishermen are bringing their boats in really close to land, closest I've ever seen them bring in the boats. Must be getting really choppy out there.

Its a bad omen.

PR_Glen 03-19-2011 01:36 PM

size of the moon in the sky varies about 15% in total over an 18 year cycle. How much different you think its going to look from how it did last month?

The answer is you most likely wouldn't notice it anyway... so nothing super going on...

Was supposed to be at it's closest and brightest here at 7:09pm.

I could barely even see the damn moon because of all the clouds! Fuck it!

It should be an amazing view since there is not a cloud in the sky. :)

garce 03-19-2011 03:08 PM

Every year, the Moon moves a tiny bit farther away from the Earth. If it didn't rip the planet apart millions of years ago, it ain't gonna happen today.

onedree 03-19-2011 06:04 PM

DBS.US 03-19-2011 06:58 PM

High tide in Hermosa Beach is at 9:59 PM tonight.

I have two birds (cocktails) normally they sing and talk all day, today nothing but little chirps.

Note: Hermosa Beach is the city next to Redondo Beach where all the fish died last week

marketsmart 03-19-2011 07:24 PM

i have the uncontrollable urge to go out raping tonight...

see you in the funny papers...

True, its moving away at a rate of about 1.5 inches a year. One day it will break free of the earths gravitational pull and no moon equals no life on earth. But most likely the sun will devour earth before that happens.

bronco67 03-19-2011 08:44 PM

It just looks like a regular 'ol moon.

Dood 03-19-2011 09:28 PM

I took these pics a little after 8pm. It seemed bigger when it was closer to the horizon.

Thats just an optical illusion. It only appears bigger because you have other things in view to scale it to such as trees, buildings, mountains, etc when it is near the horizon.

SGS 03-20-2011 01:17 AM

It looked fantastic here on Friday (bigger and very bright) but too cloudy to see it properly yesterday.

JFK 03-20-2011 01:55 AM
