Anyone seen FOOD INC?

After seeing this clip, I'd like to check it out. Before I do, anyone here seen it? What do you think?

Okay, what's that lady doing in the last part of the clip below? Applying a green dye or something else? Kinda blurry

Seen it, it was ok. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Do also watch TAPPED..

Sounds like a cool movie. I dug around for a review. Here's an interesting one http://www.pajiba.com/film_reviews/t...tled-water.php

I can't watch doom n' gloom documentaries any more... they are just too fucking depressing.

Less to do with "doom and gloom" and more to do with "wake up and take control of your choices"

Ignorance is bliss. I choose bliss.

I can't remember the website, but some oddball site had it in full some months ago at least.

Kind of disturbing on a few points. I try to keep in mind that if humans hadn't grown all of those chickens, they wouldn't exist in the first place. Of course where they're natural they would and do live, but it's not like we could just open the gates and let them go from farms. They'd die en masse I think.

I thought it was going to be more slanted in view than it was. It makes you wonder what agribiz is doing. I thought that it was particularly interesting, the bit about Monsanto, coming up with a Round-up resistant strain of Soy Beans, and them going after anyone who cleaned their own seed, to see if their strain had cross pollinated with the farmer's own stock.

What I did take from the whole theme, was that I should start buying all my meat locally. It may cost a little more, but its worth it.

Yes, I rather enjoyed this movie and found it entertaining and enlightening.

Please share it with everyone you know.

I really enjoyed it and it made me change the shopping and eating habits for my entire family.

I actually did not walk away from it with a "poor animals" mentality but rather "how fucking gross what we're eating every day".

O MARINA 03-18-2011 07:23 AM

Have not seen it, but thanks for the reminder.

DamianJ 03-18-2011 07:27 AM

I watched it and thought "fuck me, how are Americans letting this happen".

Yeah, the part about what Monsanto is doing was what disturbed me.

After watching the movie, I started shopping the local Farmers Market and joined a co-op where I get local meats.

I've been eating healthy the last few years with the odd McDonalds hamburger every now and then. Since I watched this movie over a year ago I havent eaten any fast food. I refuse to be a part of this crap.
