start up affiliate noob

hello GFY,
a wealth of information here on GFY I've been reading off and on for about six or seven months taking notes and collecting links with ideas and information and I have a couple questions although they seem nooobish and the answer seems pretty obvious but I thought I would ask anyway.

I run a regular business I work full-time and I'm not expecting at least in the near future anyway to be able to quit my day job.

Question one is I have a regular shared hosting program in which I run my regular business from nothing to do with online sales its just a business website offering my services, okay fine, is setting up and running an affiliate porn website from the same hosting package a good or bad idea?
why do I ask? well obviously finances, although hosting is cheap in a shared environment is it smart to run basically a porn website from my regular sites same hosting environment? in a nutshell will the porn site affect my business site in anyway?

Next question is also about hosting although I probably will buy separate hosting .....again is a shared environment suitable for hosting an affiliate porn network?
the hosting I'm looking at is offered from naked hosting ( found in a thread on GFY ) in which they have a shared service for about a $8 per month........is this suitable to start off ? or waste of time and resources? should I just go for a larger more expensive hosting package.
My idea is to start off small see where it goes and build from there and if it works I can move it up to the more expensive hosting package I know it's all peanuts but just trying to keep within reality here in the beginning.

next question is about WordPress I'm quite affluent in using WordPress, what I have no experience with, is WPMU...... is this suitable to run a network of affiliate porn blogs? is there anyone out there using WPMU to do just this?
the niche that interests me and seems to pay the best in affiliate marketing would be WebCams/video chat type of sites...... is WordPress robust enough to handle something like this I'm sure it is but I would just like to to get some other people's insight.

WordPress themes......... does anyone have any experience using a theme framework to run their blog network,I ask specifically about Headway themes as I've spent quite a long time learning the ins and outs of how to use this piece of software/theme and would very much like to really use it for what I'm describing here....its pretty powerfull.......does anyone have a site built on it I could take a look at?

IS there any themes out there for wordpress that are the goto themes for an affiliate type site?...Does it matter?

domain names while it seems easy.... good luck with that.... as every good domain name that I think of has already been taken........ except for one.. so which leads to a simple question.....is using XXX in the domain name Smart, good, bad, indifferent or just plain stupid or am I overanalyzing and it simply doesn't matter too much?

I'll leave it at that couple questions for now and hopefully can build this thread up to help me manipulate my end result, most questions probably asked before ,but its difficult to gather all the info .......although there is a wealth of it here no doubt

Ok I use wp on my site, take a look sexmovz.com , the bad thing with wp in my opinion is that its entirely based upon plugins and here comes the compatibility issue, wp is updated regularly but most of plugins aren't so if you wanna use it on your site chose wisely the plugins you're going to use you may update one day and discover that your posts aren't displaying or worst...:error

any way i'm using it, so give it a try , GL!

why use someone else's system, when you can just build your own network and own ALL the traffic

Always have a dedicated server and managed at first. It's a no brainer.

So just go for it is what your saying :)
I could see the site sitting there with very little traffic for a few months.

Ok so help me get over the hosting hump.....I want to say build 20 sites ( all affiliate) ....anyone have any opinions on hosting where I could do this ...for a reasonable monthly cost?

I've got my degree in software engineering been a software engineer for UPS, run my own web company, etc.

I can tell you assuredly you do NOT need dedicated hosting to get started. The measly few dozen hits a day you'll be lucky to generate in the beginning do not warrant the hardware expenses. You'll be able to serve up thousands of hits a day from any even semi-decent shared hosting. Just make sure it comes with sufficient bandwidth. Now when you have enough money I'd say get at least a VPS if not real dedicated hosting because you want to not have to rely upon someone else as much. Check out cloud computer, I wonder if they will support porn? Check out softlayer [dot] com they have a cheap cloud computing option.

That being said I dedicated servers BECAUSE I NEED THEM.... right tools for the right job

yea keep your costs as low as possible so that its easier to make a profit. almost all shared hosting comes with wordpress so just get a hostgator account. unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage, unlimited domains for $15 a month. i've got hundreds of sites at hostgator.

this is where my problem is, conflicting opinions......Im leaning towards shared ,but want a hosting plan that lets me upgrade seamlessly and easily....shared for the obvious reason....looks like naked hosting is fitting this bill....any experience with this company anyone?
