Two sources told NBC News' Robert Bazell that the latest blast breached the containment structure and that radiation has leaked out.

If confirmed, it would be the first direct damage to a reactor at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex since the massive earthquake and tsunami on Friday.

"I would like to speak to the Japanese citizens about the power plant. please listen to my message calmly. The power plant has been explained so far, the reactors have shut down.

Every possible method has been used to cool down the reactor however, hydrogen came out causing an explosion and also for reactor 4 we have seen fire. Radiation has spread from these reactors and the reading of the level seems very high. There is still a very high risk of further radioactive material coming out.

A 20km radius of the power plant has become the area of evacuation.

We need now for everybody to move out of the 20km radius to move out.

In the area of 20-30km around the plant, we'd like to ask you to remain indoors at home, or in your offices. We'd like to ask you to remain indoors and avoid going outside.

For #2 power plant, already people have already all evacuated from the 10km radius and now we are asking that everyone move out of the 10km radius of the #2 plant.

We are making every effort possible so that no further explosion or leakage of material happens. The people at the power plant are carrying out operations to cool the reactor, putting themselves in a very dangerous situation so that we may hopefully prevent any further radioactive leakage. I would like to ask the nation, although this is an incident of great concern, I request that you act very calmly. "

Breaking news again that a fourth reactor is on fire. And all this in the most proactive country on earth. Mother nature doesn't screw around.

The explosion at Chernobyl was also in the fourth reactor. Creepy.
