quake in JAPAN thoughts...

lets take the money we are pissing off/wasting in the middel east and help the Japs... ?

fatfoo 03-11-2011 09:38 AM

You say Quake instead of Earthquake, like you are talking about the computer game called Quake. With all the panic, people could start running around like Quake. It is always a controversial issue about where a country should spend its money. A country could consider keeping forces at home to solve homeland problems rather than sending them to other countries. A country could send forces to other countries for different missions.

Consider it done ...

NaughtyRob 03-11-2011 10:32 AM

Sounds like a plan to me.

iamtam 03-11-2011 10:38 AM

there isnt any oil under japan. us motivation isnt the same.

TheLegacy 03-11-2011 11:15 AM

I am honestly disappointed that the media seems to focus more on how it will affect US than where it is truly hurting. I hardly believe a huge wave is going to wipe out homes and kill thousands.

Japan are our friends - and yes I do believe that we need to assist them, for those who don't feel providing humanitarian aid is important then consider doing it to protect our economy

my thoughts exactly..
btw the jap yen dropped dramatically instantly.
now the oil prices coming down also, due Japan is the 3rd largest "user" of oil.

PR_Glen 03-11-2011 12:13 PM

would be the right thing to do I would think... If we all spent a little more time helping others rather than 'protecting' them we'd all be better off for it I'm sure.

{Psycho} 03-11-2011 01:43 PM

Great idea :)

new millionaires born every day riding the wave of forex or equity

Caligari 03-11-2011 06:13 PM

the problem is that the world is inundated with disasters happening all the time now.
countries are already spread thin. look at haiti, its a small fucking country which is still fucked up after all of the aid/help? yes theres the corruption part but still.

i think the IMF (which i dont even trust) needs to make a new world disaster fund of which something like .1 % of a countries gdp is donated annually. theres got to be something huge and accountable cuz i think shits going to get worse.

I noticed that. Last night on Yahoo news the top two stories was "Japan earthquake and tsunami" and then "Hawaii prepares for tsunami". Go figure.

They need help through the emergency stages, but they can rebuild themselves, America just needs to know when to back off instead of planting a flag.

Spunky 03-11-2011 08:19 PM

That was a devastating one that's for sure

It should be. Japan's one of the few country's rich enough to return the favor if we ever need it.

I feel awful that we, most people complain & act so negative about life. Fight & destroy the world, when natuural disasters like this happen pretty regular these years :(

God help an amazing nation of people. No one deserves to have their home taken away, their lives placed in desperate times & fear whether they could be hurt at any moment further.

Where is god... maybe he has given up on helping a horrible world that we live.

Maybe if we all take a moment everyday to think of something nice, unselfish, maybe a wish for the Japanese to find a way to recover from this disaster.... we can all become a nicer race.
