I live in a Tsunami zone and if

...Hawaii is hit hard...I will have to start throwing shit in my truck. My evacuation route is only two blocks away and then drive up a mountain...but my home will probably be wiped out. I am hoping that Hawaii is not hit hard.

Whatever you do... post on GFY about it.

Seriously man pack your shit now just in case. Or wait and be stuck in the damn crowd. Go to the gas station now.

I live in a small town and all of the gas stations are closed but the truck is at about half tank which will take me about 150 miles...and it will take a couple of hours to travel from Hawaii so I will wait to see if in fact Hawaii is hit hard before I start throwing shit in the truck. I keep an emergency bag packed at all times so their is really not much else to load.

Why did I think you lived in GA, or KY or something like that? I'd advise charging your batteries and getting to high ground. I'm at 70' so I should be good.

I'm on the beach in Marina Del Rey - they say the waters could rise 3-4 feet.

I really do not know why you thought I lived in the South. I moved from California to Oregon about seven or eight years ago.

I just put new batteries in a week or so ago so I should be good on that front and I have a kerosene lantern...and I will head out if it hits Hawaii hard...but as you probably recall the last warning for Hawaii was a no show...so I hope this is to...as I will probably lose my home if not.

theking, I know that you live in a Tsunami zone and you are at risk. One of the reasons why humans created transportation vehicles is so that they could evacuate at a fast speed from a local danger. You could drive away farther from the shore.

Twoface31 03-11-2011 07:43 AM

be carefull and get alerted always :)

7' waves in HI? The roads on the WA coast were congested but the wave was only about a foot here.

theking 03-11-2011 03:50 PM

Once the Hawaii reports came in sometime after 3:00 AM I knew that I should be ok here so I did not evacuate but the highway was full of those that did.
