Not sure if there is a faster way.
But if you have a harddisk recorder ( not sure if this is what you call a tivo?? ) record onto that from the vhs machine and take it from there. |
Go to Electronic shop like Radio Shack or Maplins in the UK or a computer fair....
Little electronic gadget and software to capture the video, once on a harddisk an editing program will allow you to tidy up and convert to the format you want... Or buy online...should be from $20 up |
You need VHS player and some analog tv card with s-video input and some cables. Most TV Cards will do avi, but if you need DVD/mpeg my advice is to buy video card with hardware MPEG-2 encoder (they are bit expensive then usual ones but it will pay off soon) since it does all encoding itself and it doesn't use CPU so chances of dropped frames are minimal. Leadtek PVR series should do the job.
