So I login to an affiliate program...

And I haven't check my stats in over 8 months with them. I don't really care, but I do make a few hundred a year with them. They still have Epassporte as my default payment and you can still select it as your default payment.

Come on guys, start paying attention. I would assume ANY affiliate program should change over to CHECK if Epassporte was a previous selection.

that would be foolish to automatically set it to check.. how do you know that their mailing address is correct or up to date? Checks would be flying everywhere and that would be a nightmare for any accounting department...

paying attention to your accounts more would be a more sensible solution wouldn't you think?

first notice emails should be sent to wms, or even try out to contact via messenger, if he makes money for the program

Let's hope that money is not in motion.

i changed hundreds of programs after epass. thinking the sponsor would do it is stupid. you can't get many of them to pay anymore, do you think they give a shit about your account settings?

TheDA 03-03-2011 10:53 AM

What program?

Just because they don't change it automatically to something you haven't even requested doesn't mean they don't care or are trying to steal your money. We've sent multiple emails, IMs etc. to some affiliates and can't get a response. We want to pay them and get it off our books. It's a pain in the ass, but just sending out a check to a fake or outdated address without their instruction to do so would be far more of a hassle in the long run.

had several programs that did something similar. either i didn't log in and change it, or i did change it but because it was during the whole shitstorm, there was a NATS issue and i had to follow up with them so they could manually fix it. either way i'm glad they opted to hold onto it instead of just sending it out without verification

Same here. Even after multiple mass emails and then personal emails there are still affiliates that have not checked in and made the change. It's rather frustrating and a huge pain in the ass.

Here's the problem with just switching to checks without the consent of the affiliate.

example: The affiliate has an old PID from 2002 they signed up with. Then, flipped to epass there after. Because your on epass you have no need to change your address for anything. Did you move in the last 8 years? Probably. Would we have the correct address? Probably not. Are we going to cut checks just so they get returned every period month after month. Nope.

So for those affiliates that have not changed their info (still to this day sigh), we still have epass as payouts so we can track what's owed to the affiliate historically. When and if they ever do check in, we have the stats to back it up rather than lose checks everywhere piling up.

I agree. I've reached out to every affiliate of ours who has epassporte still selected. Some haven't responded, mostly those who dont' have $$ due from us. However, those that do have money due have already changed their info.

If you have promoted RadicalCash before and haven't changed your payment method from ePassporte, hit me up;-)

You guys should share which programs are doing this so others can go change their settings. I'm sure I have a bunch that I haven't changed.

nyllover 03-03-2011 12:29 PM

Ok it would surely be stupid to change it automatically but... having that still as an option IS foolish as well!

tranza 03-03-2011 12:42 PM

You'd be amazed man. Just today I checked a few sponsors of mine. 10 to be exact.

I found out that out of these 10 sponsors, 9 of them didn't send some payouts last year, after the Epass mess.

Long story short, I'm owed over $3.6k because I didn't take the time to check if they were paying corretly.

And these are all big sponsors. The only one that paid everything correctly was TopBucks.
