thanks but the prices are almost identical to air canada 1st class. 3600 bucks/seat. i'm looking for a better deal...

SleazyDream 01-19-2003 11:01 PM

you have a big house, let a cute older air canada stewardess (as i think they are all over 60 at air canada now) move into a room at your place - one that's been there 40 years with the best first class free travel seating that their employees can get. Have her sign a pre-nup agreement so you have no money worries about her suing you and then 6 months later you're able to fly first class for free ANYWHERE in the world any time you want.

I have an older cousin who's wife was with air canada over 30 years, she died but he was able to keep the travel privilges and he ALWAYS flies first class for free. - for the REST of his life.

fuckin air canada, everytime I fly them 3/4 or more of the first class section is their employees.

Backov 01-19-2003 11:02 PM

They have a lot of balls to charge that for first class on a domestic flight.. I can't see the point of anything above biz class on a domestic, it's not like you're ever on a 747 or whatever the Airbus equivelant is to get the real benefits..

Cheers,
Backov

SleazyDream 01-19-2003 11:03 PM

I've always found it cheaper to buy economy and upgrade at the airport when I arrive............

See if AirTransat does any flights. There prices are good and Club class is usualy $100 more for good seats. No AirCanada but 10x better than coach.

it's why air canada charges soo much for their first class seats - they don't like customers to be in them.

they have a rule though, employees must be in a suit and women in nice clothing - no jeans/ casual wear. check it out next time you fly air canada, there are more well dressed people on their flights in first class than any other airline.

ask those dressed up, I have, 9/10 times they will tell you they work for air canada. it really pisses me off. I have no problem with employees in economy but they fuckin LOAD their jets first class sections up with their own NON-PAYING people.

paying people usually don't get dressed up to fly, they change into their good cloths at the hotel.

I have a friend that flies for free on Continental like this. Anytime to anywhere no problem! He didn't even have to get married, she wrote his name in the signifigant other slot on the human resources paper.

I would think that $5-10,000 a year would be able to make just about any stewardess put your name in that slot. Oh, and the dress up part is optional for coach, it's mandatory for first.

Rich 01-19-2003 11:17 PM

Just buy a standby ticket, poor a little bottled water in front of the ticket desk, then slip and fall really hard and fake an injury. They'll upgrade you to first class for free.

GTS Mark 01-19-2003 11:18 PM

What's the big fucking deal, fly economy. What is it a 2 1/2 hour flight to Toronto?

I only buy economy, I'm a poor schmuck.

BUT Northwest Airlines upgrades me to First Class every time I fly, for FREE. I think it's a conspiracy to steal my free porn. MassiveCock?

I have flown first class a couple of times, it was really nice but not worth paying all the extra $$$ for especially if it is a short flight... If I was flying to Australia however I might splurge.

fly WestJet

they don't have 1st/executive/business class seats

but everyone does get either a cookie or a bag of peanuts during their flight
:thumbsup

why don't you make a stop-over in Regina and i'll show you that it is true that the earth is flat
:1orglaugh

hershie 01-20-2003 12:02 AM

a friend has a "white box" computer company and buys all his parts on his AeroGold CIBC Visa card and amasses zillions of miles and (used to be able to) sells it to me on the cheap and so I was able to fly biz. class on Air Canada for less then economy. They closed the loophole I guess of being able to transfer air miles into someone elses account.:BangBang:

if the choice is direct tango economy or a layover with first class tickets - TAKE THE DIRECT FLIGHT

Brat 01-20-2003 12:09 AM

ahhh isn't the Cibc Aerogold card great? :)

I work for CIBC card services and it is definitely the most popular card. The only think I hear people complain about is the long waiting time on Aeroplan..and the fact that you can't get flights during the holidays or as they say 'blackout periods' i believe.

Without that card, we would be NOTHING.

should i switch to this card? right now i have an airmiles mastercard with heavy usage (i've got about 36K airmiles built up from 2002 alone that haven't been used). what's the deal with aeroplan?

a better idea and deal is to get CIBC's Platinum Visa Card. It pays you 2% back at the ned of the year for all your purchases. Since I am sure you have the discipline and financial wherewithall to pay off your monthly statement, you will always do better IMHO charging every single thing you can over the year on your Visa and never using cash again (where possibe) and you get cold hard cah back (well they credit your account). It has a yearly $79 or so fee, but if you are a reasonable spender, you will make a couple of grand using the card.

i think Royal Bank issued a card that works with numerous plans and not just Air Canada's so you can designate which to apply it to.
