Why is it so difficult to spend money?

Had deal with programmer, met in LA at XBIZ, he shows it how it works, just has to fix one thing. Few weeks later and no response.

He had money in the bank and leaves us hanging. Are there any reliable programmers left out there?

PornoStar69 03-02-2011 02:23 PM

How queer

If you find one let me know, I have been looking for a good reliable php coder for 10 years now. Seriously.

I must be the luckiest motherfucker on the planet.

I've undertaken one massive php job, and hired one guy to do it. Job is done, job is great, and guy is still working with me. Users love it, I love it, it's exactly what we tried for.

Now if I could only get him to program a clone of himself to sell to you guys, we'd be rich.

I had one well respected programmer from here that just took our money and said he could not do the job, but spent the money and could not return it. Then I find this guy and am amazed by the timely responses, etc and when it comes time to get paid, he disappears.

This job would have netted him 10's of 1,000's. Simply amazing.

punker barbie 03-02-2011 03:03 PM

i referred you a good programmer a while back what happened?

candyflip 03-02-2011 03:04 PM

I fuck my PHP programmer whenever she wants it. I'm hoping that's not the only reason she sticks around.

If you're lucky, I won the fucking lottery. My coder has been with me across a half dozen platforms for probably 3-4 years now? The dude is elite.

LeRoy 03-02-2011 04:13 PM

Was it that guy with a big flyer and a cowboy hat?

Lloyd, email me at [email protected], with some details. I can forward it to my partner, who will know immediately if our programmer can help you or not.

I have dealt with about 10 flakes and one legit person. It is really hard to find a good coder and when someone does find a good coder they always wanna keep that coder to themselves... share the goods folks :)

That's the thing, this was just the beginning. I don't know, maybe it is something wired about them that makes their code like their kids, and they can't part with it, no matter how much you pay.

I wanted to shower him in money. ugh

Actually, I hope he is okay. He said he caught something on the way home from LA, but he was supposedly better. Programmers and designers. That is why I like Deej. He is a reliable designer.

ever thought about profit sharing ? I would throw away code that i could sell for 100k if it were to make the buyer 10 million :)

It was built into the agreement.

wdsguy 03-02-2011 10:53 PM

at least give us the persons initials so we can avoid them in the future.

Konrad has done some good work for me but he is usually busy.

MetaMan 03-02-2011 11:17 PM

We have a full time programmer on staff. We hired him fresh out of university. Most programmers think their shit dont stink and are pointless to work with. Find a fresh guy and mould him full time.

maybe something happened in his life, like got real sick and went to the hospital. Had a family member die dude who knows. Until someone makes contact with him you really don't know what happened.

I had a guy who was broke and I was going to hire him and pay him decent weekly salary for long term project to help him out, easy work that he knew well. He goes MIA for 3 months a couple days before the work was to start. I can't get in touch with him on the phone, no one knows what happened to him. come to find out he had a major break down and had an extended stay in a mental facility. Shit happens, you never know.

Lloyd, I've got some extremely talented PHP developers (they know much more as well, such as Javascript/Jquery, AJAX, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, as well as Smarty templating and popular PHP frameworks) who can do very high quality work for you. Additionally, you'd be working with a company based in the US (not an individual who can easily vanish), so there's definitely a lot more accountability here.

Feel free to hit me up using any of the contact info in my sig and I'll see what I can do to help.

The Dawg 03-03-2011 10:02 AM

Had that happen to me on a couple projects too. Most coders are as flaky as strippers.

Sucks.
