XVid.org tries to seize XVid.com
Should be interesting to see who wins this one. xvid.com is an older domain but was parked until its current owner paid $55k for it in 2010. In 2008 xvid.org secured a trademark on "xvid". Now Millitzer (xvid.org) has filed a UDRP with WIPO to seize XVid.com.

I dont think they will get it ....in fact l would file a reverse hijack claim.

xvid.com owner is fucked... if he would have sold "xvid" skateboards or something on that domain, he would have been fine... but he obviously leeched off xvid.org's traffic to sell some video software... :2 cents:

if he purchased after the trademark he may be screwed.
|
hes fucked

In cases like this they seem to be ruling with whoever owns the trademark. So yes, if the .com guy bought the domain after the trademark was bought, I think the .com guy is screwed for sure.
Even if it wasn't after there is still a good chance it won't go his way. |
darn what a shame if the org win and he loses his 55k investment

Blood gets boiling in veins when you see such fucking greedy douchebags trying to steal others names in the name of law.

The Xvid.com guy is a fucking blazing idiot on many levels. If he loses the domain he deserves it. Did he not check the trademark database before he forked over the $55k? And then he goes and sells video software on the domain??????!!!!!! I'd say 99% chance that Xvid.org wins this case.

xvid.com should win., coz its not just any word , its fucking extension and a file type.
there may be some clause |
