Need a per gig host
I need a host that charges per gig or for "average" mbps.
It needs to be cheap too. Cogent=ok :winkwink: Spam me here or lenny at amateurcleavage dot com |
BTW, I forgot to mention I'm going to need 2000-3000 gigs per month.
|
lenny2, I sent you some specs and info, let me know if you have any questions at all.

Your m3ex special looks ok, but why is the overage cheaper than the bandwidth included in the plan? 50 cents a gig or a bit lower is where I need to be to make this project I'm working on profitable. Which is why I'm ok with cogent for this, I'm trying to be a reasonable guy :winkwink: |
definitely worth checking out http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...=techie media
Very good host and prices, but if your really willing to risk your sites with cogent then they can't help you. Try cologroup for that stuff. |

For $4-5K a month I could just buy a dell poweredge and a 100mbps line from cogent myself. |

And you can quit with the cogent bashing already. I'm not a big cogent fan, but it'll do for this particular project. |

Lenny2 I can get you a great price if you contact me on icq 19671897

I can do $.40/GB for a 2000GB minimum commitment. Any additional would also be 40 cents a gig.
Multihomed bandwidth, yadda yadda. Buying from Aleron, a provider who we partner with for internap, yipes, and peer1, and hurricane electric. 25285313 if you're interested. Can of course provide references, been in business for well over 4 years now. thanks much, -Phil |

.50/gig is like $150/mbit. Looney.
I thought I read that he wanted cheap, cogentOK, bandwidth for a project that would be unprofitable for him if he had to pay more than .50/gig. Lenny... I feel ya & I actually read your post :winkwink: I need to go grab a bite really quick, but leave your ICQ# and lets chat.. it'll be worth your while. |
$.40/gig with Oxeo
The possibility of an even better deal, is there, as well. Hit me on ICQ, and let's see what I can do for ya. 29109639 |

If you bill me on 95th percentile I'll pay more than 50 cents a gig if you're charging $150/mbit, because of the spikes in the traffic. That's why I'm looking for a "per gig" or billed on "average" deal. I need to pay at or near 50 cents per "gig that I actually transfer", not gigs that I "could theoretically transfer". (IE, giving me a capped 10mbps line and telling me its the equivalent of 3200 gigs) |

Try Oxeo.. I hear they are good. Techiemedia as well... might be higher priced than Oxeo though. |
