Easy. After having kids a lot of wives trot out the old "Not in front of the children" mentality, which quickly mutates into the "Never, because even if the kids aren't nearby they might come home" mentality
which then later, after several dozen fights and you all but on your knees begging for a toss, it transmutes into "Oh alright, I just don't feel like it so it's not gonna happen.
