Do You Read Affiliate Program Newsletters?
And if so - what do you want to see in them? ie: articles, promo tools, announcements, etc.
|
I hate them with a passion.
|
I read them primarily to make sure link codes aren't changing or something equally serious. For ones which convert well I also pay attention to the new promo material but if the program isn't a big money maker it means nothing to me.
|
they are useless these days. links to rehashed content in rehashed templates with your affiliate code in them. BFD, you can get it all in the affiliate area...
|
I read them but not all :)
I would like to see correct link codes from FHGs, not receiving the same email twice or more with "corrected link" or re re re "THIS is the correct link" and so on I don`t like reading stories that doesn`t interest me at all. I like to read the news regarding the program, new paysites, new promo tools, not the same promo tools launched 10 times as new every month. |
I've been actively unsubscribing from them.
|
I do...
some of those are really good, but some are just same ol' copy/paste shit... |
I'll add a constructive suggestion or two. It might be a good idea to rank the best converting sites for the last month based on all affiliate traffic. But if you bullshit about the conversions to push a new site or whatever most of us will detect that and start ignoring the information in the future. Keep it honest and without the spin. I'm not the customer I'm supposed to be your partner, remember?
It's also a great idea to put our user name somewhere in the newsletter. Especially if the link code doesn't match the name and there is no user name reminder function. Pictures of new galleries generally aren't necessary. I prefer just a list of the new ones or a link to get them in various different formats. One sponsor always includes huge pictures of the galleries in the emails. It seems like such a waste. I might be able to understand a few sample thumbs but I don't need full size images for each gallery in my email. If you add any significant promo material or options then I like to know that as well. For instance if you have started offering 5 minute clips instead of 3 minute clips then that is good information to include. Same thing for new sites. |
No i stop like 3 yrs ago... I have no traffic these days so doesn't matter much
|
Nope hate them!
Especially when you get 2 or 3 from the same program on the same day for no reason! |

Okay I just got an annoying one. A newsletter sent to our affiliate program email ([email protected]) which is never used for test signups and I get a $14.95 offer to join Bait Bus. Sigh.
|
I hit "delete" right away.
Same with the "FHGs update" emails that seem to come every fucking day. |
Only the ones from AFF :)
|
Nope. I can't say I read them 9 of 10 times.
:2 cents: |

If the SUBJECT notes that it is an important matter, definitely. Payment news, significant pieces of information, etc.
