IT's A SECRET! - So don't tell ANYONE.

Mass media is on crack.

What I'm about to show you is TOP SECRET, so please don't tell anyone. And well, if you DO, please don't tell any North Koreans or anyone in the middle east.

And if you ARE middle eastern or North Korean -- hell, korean at all for that matter... please leave the room now, because what I am about to show everyone is ultra top secret. So be kind and rewind your ass out of this thread or something.

Man its GREAT! We are going to kick so much ass with this technology! Iraq and NK aren't going to know what hit them. So long as they don't have news or internet.

Woah.. hey wait I just found something else...

I'll go read this article real quick and come back to break it down for everyone. I mean as long as we have all our enemies out of the thread.

Is that a hotdog on steriods?

It could still fail tho... Think about this -- you can't stop oldschool mechanics or common sense with a capacitor bomb... Not everything runs electronically. Sure a lot of shit runs electronically -- so it probably works well if the enemy is stupid. It seems there would be plenty of weapons still in this day and age that don't use electronics but are fully mechanical.

Also, it seems like any chemical weapons factory that is our enemey -- all they would need to do is install lightning rods to diffuse the energy pulse.

It's still cool shit tho -- I had an idea once in college for a capacitor powered skateboard... Basically the wheels would be huge motors (w/ the coil inside the wheel) -- as you skate the charge would build up in the board (the board itself would be one giant capacitor layer) -- capacitors can store very high voltage man but in a short burst -- so anyway my idea would be to have like a turbo button that you press on the board and your shit would haul ass like fucking Back to the Future style... DOH!

If there are any electronics geeks -- I'd like to know how feasible they think my capacitor skateboard idea is...

The HPM is a top-secret program, and the Pentagon wants to keep it that way. Senior military officials have dropped hints about a new, classified weapon for Iraq but won't provide details. Still, information about HPMs, first successfully tested in 1999, has trickled out. "High-power microwave technology is ready for the transition to active weapons in the U.S. military," Air Force Colonel Eileen Walling wrote in a rare, unclassified report on the program three years ago. "There are signs that microwave weapons will represent a revolutionary concept for warfare, principally because microwaves are designed to incapacitate equipment rather than humans."
If it is so top secret why is Time got the scoop and printing it??

Does look cool. Must be pretty small to go through plumbing. :ak47: :ak47: :ak47:

they've been working on this for a really long time, so my guess is it's like the stealth, 30 years later they started letting us in on it.

gothweb 01-19-2003 11:01 AM

I don't think a lighting rod would help one of these, or a traditional pinch. There are people who think we used EMP bombs in Destert Storm.

Spoonie Luv 01-19-2003 11:02 AM

Hey Sadam, read between the lines!

The article mentions that we used something like this in the previous war.

Voodoo 01-19-2003 11:30 AM

Ok, so it's some super-secret EMP bomb right?

WHY THE HELL ARE THEY PRINTING ABOUT IT IN TIME FUCKING MAGAZINE?!?!?!?!?!

Jezis Kriste!

Ok, I think we should release every top secret weapon we have, on International television, and to be sure we broadcast it to all o f our enemy countries, so they know exactly what we are up to.
