You really don't need to be a good photographer to make good pornography. In fact courses like that might make your porn worse.

It's like teaching a writer how to program. Won't make him a better writer.

If you can't get a picture, in focus, lit properly and framed right with todays equipment you're beyond help.

Don't see anything on the course about teaching a model how to climax so the audience believes her. :1orglaugh

I beg to differ. Knowledge is a positive thing. An understanding of photography and imagination can add a lot. Photography and Videos are representations of the act.

Of course, the hotter the action the better, but the better it is photographed the more exciting it will be for the audience.

As the erotic is fantasy photography can really help hide the ugly reality (spots blemishes dull everyday life ) and promote the dream, best angle for the girl, sunshine and nice location, or other fantasy.

true but knowledge doesnt hurt. I took all types of classes on videography and film. 99 percent of the time its been useless for adult but now and then it comes in handy. Also its free and its good to think Paul like the puzzles it keeps our brains nice and workable :)

This must be why POV, Reality, Amateur and Ex GF do so well. My mistake then. :1orglaugh

I know a shooter that dumped all his pc stuff and got mac because he wanted to be more creative... prolly spent 15K on hardware and software... turns out FC is so fucking complicated and confusing as well as not really accepting of many file formats the guy uses adobe premium pro.... which BTW runs fine on PC. so have fun being creative with that FC course... :2 cents:

No knowledge is good. But learning how to be a photographer won't always make you a better pornographer.

The basics of getting lighting, focusing, framing right are really very easy today. And to shoot porn in all but the top echelons that's all it takes. I have no idea why so many get it wrong then, but a course probably isn't going to help them. Because if you can't take a picture and look at it on a laptop and correct these things you're lost.

OK getting color balance/skin tone is a bit harder. Buy a Macbeth color card and balance your color before the shoot. Or use filters.

95% of porn is about something very very different. It's essentially down to man/woman management. Then knowing the niche.

Being able to get models to do as YOU want and not as THEY want is essential. Keeping them in control and happy. Finding good ones, sorting out bad ones and a lot more.

Then knowing the niche. Knowing what it takes to frame a shot is something few shooters know. I see so much content on stills shot in Portrait framing, then the same shots over and over again, then just plain bad cropping. Lack of poses, and actually knowing how to pose a model. You might be able to bring your photography up to Playboy standards, but it's far more than that. Far more.

Then why do so many surfers prefer Amateur? Is it because they are fed up with the fake climaxes and action from so many models?

None of which will be covered in the training. And essential a shooter has to learn to shoot good porn.

It's good if you can shoot good porn to be able to shoot good photography, but stepping up in style as you said isn't often called on. Knowledge is essential. But the right knowledge, not something that nice to know.

Here are some tips that might help some.

Don't cover a lot of photography points.

How to shoot porn.

Posing, framing and producing content
