Anyone making more money with revshare vs PPS?
I have always been a revshare person but after looking at years worth of revshare totals divided by sales it usually comes out to about $15 per sale or even less. When I could be getting $30-$40 per sale instead. Most people sign up for a trial and cancel before it rebills.
Yeah it's nice to be able to stop pushing a sponsor and still get revshare payments for months or years afterward, but not if you could be getting 2x or 3x the amount for each sale and getting the money much sooner also. Plus you've got the problem these days where sponsors will just split one day with everyone's earnings, if you went the revshare route you would have wasted all that time building up sales waiting for it to pay off when you could have just done PPS and you're only missing out on a couple checks. I guess the revshare thing will work on those really micro niche sites or those rare sites that are setup to rebill extremely well, but from what I've seen from the majority it's much better to go PPS.. |
i found rebills died around the time the financial crisis hit.
some sites rebill ok still, find sites with trials rarely go to full anymore. |
I still make money on revshare from programs I was getting sales three, four years ago! So, for some programs it's golden, for the others it just doesn't work. It mostly depends on content and the quality of traffic you send to programs.

Depends on the site and the circumstances. I've never found a REVS site which had pre-checked cross sales yet which rebills worth a damn so if you're pushing one of those you're probably fucking up and making the program owner rich at the same time. Only use REVS with people running fair programs who update and have exclusive content they keep off the forums and DMCA tubes. Otherwise the general rule is forget it.
Same if the owner is shady in even the slightest way. You see people here saying "Oh always go by money per hit" well that's bullshit when it comes to REVS in 2010 and 2011 because unless you factor in the chances of the owner fucking you out of your rebills you're missing a variable as part of the equation. |

It depends on the program...

revs are still good depending on the prog.. lots of rooted revs here from years ago..im still shocked how thats possible:)
pps is also great; especially for booosting income.. I think mixing both is still the best route. So in my opinion.. I find them both important. |
Totally depends on the sites you promote.
If you make less than $30 average per revshare sign up then there are better sites out their for your particular traffic. I can get my surfers to sign up to a piss site but it will not rebill. So if I do put up a piss site I will use PPS. One thing I can say for sure, using cheap trials on revshare never paid me shit. Surfers who sign up at full price always rebill longer across the board for me at least. |
The number of revshare programs that will walk away with your rebills is probably equal to the number of PPS programs which won't pay you, or will jerk you around when it comes to payments, so I think that argument cancels out.
One thing I would say is to join a site and see what is going on in the members area. After about 2 seconds you will figure out which programs will rebill and which ones won't. You will also be able to see if the content really matches your traffic. Sometimes the image of a site on the tour doesn't match what is actually inside, which will effect rebills as well. |
rebills could get helpful when ratios hit the big numbers, so you save your month with those sweet little $$ sales every day
