Back in high school one of my teachers who was married to a japanese woman used the word quite often....

yeah I was trying to save it with the photo, and he should realize that Japs is a negative slur that Americans would use from the war, I asked my wife who is Japanese and she is not sure if it is or not. But she is also not familiar with American history.
