How to get removed from program newsletters using NATS

Seems like previous versions of NATS had a simple checkbox to opt out of emails and now in more recent versions they have an account settings tab with all kinds of settings for when one should get an email.

I often get emails from some programs that use NATS that I don't want to receive such as new gallery links which I don't use. Whenever I get one I first login to the programs Account Settings page and see I am already opted out of everything on that page so I don't understand why am I getting these?

There is no standard notice/link at the bottom of these emails on how to opt out. Sometimes a program has added a manual notice like, reply with remove in the subject line but the two times I tried that not only was I removed from the mailing list but my account was disabled - apparently one cannot do one without the other? When I emailed them back they reenabled my account but then the emails started again.

These have NATS link codes in them so I assume they are sent through NATS. Does NATS enable program owners to send out emails without a removal link? Is there an option on the Account Settings page or elsewhere to opt out of these or is there no control over them?

It appears from the following thread that in at least previous versions of NATS program owners had to make sure to check a box in order to exclude mailings from going to affilaites that have requested to not be sent any emails - in other words the default setting was to ignore affiliate opt out requests!

I don't know if this is still the case in newer versions but the opt out of all mailings does not appear to be possible in newer versions anyway nor does there appear to be a specific category for FHG type emails on the Account Settings page one can opt out of.

Would someone familiar with the current NATS admin side confirm whether or not it is possible for an affiliate to opt out of FHG mailings without disabling ones account?
